Okay , not saying any of these theories are correct.
1. the account was breached and someone else made the post
2. Marty made the post to try and keep people from bailing
3. there was never a Marty and it has been Cbob all along
4. Cbob changed his mind (probably the most likely)
5. Patreon has a snaffu and the post will come back
cbob isn't 100% out of the woods with his depression yet. He likely pulled the post because he feels uneasy / unready to get back into finishing the game. Hopefully he gets back into it and can face down the fears and demons that led to his breakdown.
After so long...also, it was obvious that Titans would be their next thing to focus on.

So… it’s officially over now. What a ride it has been!
I guess that’s why the cbob post from earlier got deleted. Originally he said he was gonna make changes to FET, but now it looks like they’ve decided to wrap it up and start on a new project.

Aw man, I was hoping for one more update to add a few more scenes to the end ember island stuff. Feels weird being at the end.

I really hope the Patron-only reward is 1.0.0d because there's a dialogue with Beifong Sisters that mentions a future build or at least it is still being worked on by M.

If I wasn't clear enough: Can't advance the story; Can't do the last anti-hypnosis with Suki; Can't find a whore to the brothel; And can't get a better earthbender to fill the smoking crack.

you trolling at this point or what? i told you what to do, yet you trying really hard not to do it
you do understand how dungeon movement work, right? if movement arrow is highlighted - you can go in this direction, i told you to check path on first left in the dungeon, yet every time you stop before you reach the end
first you stop on the shackles, even though you can go further left, now you stop on the turn even though you can go down, do you need exact instruction what buttons to press? it's just a corridor, follow it till you reach dead end and break the wall there, then explore new section of the dungeon, if this exploration gives you so much trouble - you may as well skip this book and go to the book 4

does this have something to do with staying on good terms with patreon by removing the questionable content that is against its rules? That would really limit the creative freedom for future projects and be major blow to the quality of the content.

Look what Chickenmaid shared. It looks like there is in fact going to be at least one last content update. The story is done. Nothing more will come of that. But it does look like there's one more thing coming. That people shouldn't panic so much about the other post being deleted.
Well this update broke my game i cant click on any file it gives me an error and rollback brings me back to the opening scene

The d patch is mandatory because we have quite some bugs in 1.0.0c still. To be honest I expected them to fix those bugs first before
The only way I would comprehend those decisions is if they got a warning from Patreon and don't want to shift to another funding platform. But then, like you said, it would be almost impossible to go on with 18titans as those characters don't look exactly "legal" if you know what I mean.
Time will tell how things will develop but another update of FET is mandatory in my book. 1.0.0c still has a lot of bugs and Marty even may want to add a few small scenes or at least polish/fix the existing ones.
There is also an option to read this in an even more problematic way but I don't want to go on that road just yet.
Seems like cbob came back with a bang and Marty stepped back at once. The last update isn't like anything Marty would do at all, it's coming out of the blue and feels a little premature, so exactly like cbob's style.

idk man, Marty did mention here and there over the past months, that he wanted to do some tweaks at some point. now there's talk about his own version, maybe that's what they both decided on, to put forces into their next project, and Marty doing tweaks the way he likes to have, then under the "FET, Marty version" flag or the likes. it would make sense.
