I played this game years ago but didn’t get the chance to revisit it. Now I’ve been thinking about giving it another go, but I read somewhere that the dev was bullied into removing all bush and hair from the game by some losers. Is that true, or is there still an option to keep it?

Slave routes are underpolished since they released first. Slave epilogue is still being worked on, love is complete. You shouldn't mix routes per playthrough. If you want loli content you can only start in book 4 of each route and you have to always give answers that are loli positive, disagree once and you're locked out permanently. That should give you enough info to make your own choices.

There's just a lot of story to read (and I do recommend reading it; it's really good). Like shmurfer said, it's not wrong to play the books love/slave back to back, but I think you'll find the story a bit disjointed. I'd personally recommend playing love or slave all the way though book 4 and then doing the other one. The story will make more sense that way and the characters won't feel so jarring as you'll be in the same "theme" all the way though.

By grinding I was referring to money. You really need to grind to buy anything. As for the slave and love routes, I just want to know which one is considered the better path, because I don’t want to play one and then lose interest in playing the other.

Depends on what you like. The live route you get lots of girls to fall in love with you. Slave route you're a bit more of a dick and the girls like you all the more for taking charge. Kinks in the slave route are a tiny bit more out there, but nothing too extreme. Love route had lots of normal sex.

The love route got more polish as it was normally released after the slave route, so MITY could save some time each month on creating assets and instead focus on writing. That said I like both the love and slave routes.

Book 3, Slave route is about Katara helping corrupt and hypnotize women. Love route is sweeter and more earnest.
Book 4, The routes are different and it's worth playing both, there is far less overlap.
