So after months of no updates and raking in cash while doing nothing, he still decides that unless you spend 20 bucks a month you aren't worthy to get your hands on the cross-over test run. That's hilarious. I'm glad I pulled out early when the coder drama unfolded instead of further supporting this mess.

No, EVERY Patreon gets it all at once. The buggy version. The bugtesters get something as a bonus because, for this release, the role their paying for is pointless.
I get being unhappy, but don't put words in MITY's mouth.

I think this is just another case of MITY garnering bad PR out of incompetence/unawareness, rather than malice. The line of logic they followed is exactly that, (a) we can't make this UPDATE exclusive because that would come across as bad, so (b) we still have to release SOMETHING for the exclusive group, hence this.
I'm of the opinion that offering time gated rewards that aren't exclusive is similar to selling in-game boosts or currency that players would be motivated to buy, i.e. it's closer to selling a product or service (where people are giving you money because they want the product) rather than selling charity bracelets for $50 (where people are giving you money because they want to give you money). It's not exactly a PayPal donation link with a thank you message, it's more like buying a game on Kickstarter.
In this case specifically, the only content you can buy is the ability to follow news about the game's development and download the current build (for """bug-testing"""), so it's up to your personal morals whether they're justified in doing that, or deserve 20k a month for it. It's far from the most egregious thing when compared to other projects and you can pirate the game relatively easily, so... meh.

Read my post again. I'm well aware everyone gets access to the FET release. I exclusively refered to the testrun of a potential new project and how he treats people that financially supported him even during his lack of progress.
Doesn't matter that it will find it's way here eventually. If you decide to not release anything for several months, then you should at least hide your greed better.
Also kindly refrain from telling me what to do in the future when you fail to comprehend a post properly. Fanboyism isn't a great look.

The reason I never stop supporting him is because of the interactions and how far the project has gone ahead. he is like 1 of the 2 game Game projects that I actually support on patreon.
When supporting a projects I go for a 3 strike system and for me Mitty is on his first Strike.

Is there a specific time of day MITY uploads on patreon? Is it like a "when the clock strikes 12" in whatever timezone he's in type of deal, or just whenever the fuck on the 28th?

Pretty much at random. The artist's Patreon posts also make it seem like there are some communication barriers between them ("I emailed him 3 days ago but he hasn't responded", "I'm waiting for him to send me the game" - ie, they aren't in a group chat talking to each other 24/7 with a Git server for the game or a Dropbox they can both access) and he's supposedly doing a preliminary bug-testing pass at the moment. If he finds something seriously broken, presumably he'd send it back to the coder to fix, wait until he sends him a new version of the game, test it again, etc. They aren't professional enough to have a whole pipeline, schedule, deadlines and so on like a studio, it's just two guys doing whatever.
As for traps, it's like the most softcore version of gay porn that appeals to the broadest base possible. It takes that same trait ("maleness", masculinity) and adds the tiniest amount possible to the heterosexual norm. Futa-on-male or pegging is similar. Effeminate men and young looking boys would be another step up from that, then yaoi, then bara shit and a daddy fetish. The latter category is hardcore gay because it requires a "commitment" that a much smaller segment of the population is willing to make. You could argue that there's something similar with monster girls > furries > Zootopia > bestiality, or teens > anime lolis > pedophilia, as inflammatory as people will find that.

Regarding the first bit, it's honestly surprising as to how far they have come. There's probably more structure to it than that, but they definitely aren't in touch 24/7 that is for certain. It's not just all or nothing, usually some in-betweeny bits. Even more surprising is the fact they got a relatively consistent schedule (current update not withstanding) and manage to pump out some pretty good quality stuffs.
On the second note - Such a scale is something I didn't know I wanted until I saw it. That is pretty damn accurate and with a bit of self-reflection on preferences and kinks is pretty damn accurate. Some like animal girls, some go further into it and some are just straight up into furry stuff while disregarding the preliminary stages. Some might find that post offensive or harsh, but for people that are jaded, it makes for a pretty good measuring stick, even if I wouldn't go running around in public with that.
Apparently even fetishes work on a measurable scale.
