If you want my opinion, this seems like one last quick cash grab before this dev disappears. I hope I'm wrong, but I can't imagine generating 30 or so images and adding repeating attack patterns would take very long, so I'm not hopeful that the dev is willing to actually add "additional content" for these new enemies.
Feels immensely like that. Their patreon dropped below a thousand coming in and they pushed an update before making users/income private. Bad sign.

The game crashes after any event ends for me. Both in the latest Windows release through Proton, and the native Linux version.

Yeah and it's basically nonexistent cuz they couldn't be fucked to generate a few more variations.
Double it, they're not even animated, they just change the character position or sprite by inches, you can test this just by letting the starter monsters bang you or using failing temptations of random events.

None are animated as far I saw, to top the offense, it reuses the same animations for most monster, and the unique ones like slime is literally a single non animated sprite that ends soon on next turn.

That's serious because if they're using AI, it's no excuse to have so few, as someone who used AI image generation (and still uses sometimes) because I wanted to see how exactly it worked before judging

Making the perfect prompt isn't easy how it looks like... Still need to pray and make the AI not mess up with your configs, lora, etc...
But it is farthest of hard, in fact, it is only time consuming, and it don't take literals 30 minutes to prepare a batch of it.

You could open any generative ai and toss pixel art lora, and in few minutes with minor patience you can replicate this man's 'art' and make even bigger batches.

Honestly, the game itself looks promising, but it's laughably unbalanced, hope dev isn't taking those as hating, I want to like this game, but on that state it is unacceptable.

The only excuse for taking time is if his loras and references images are made with his own original art, but still shouldn't take long once he already made the first batch correctly, the AI gonna get what you want and rarely gonna repeat it mistakes.

Lmao no shot that's the case.
So far balance wise every single update has been utterly atrocious. In the past unwinnable unless you get the 1 or 2 broken cards or now utterly trivial as you can just stunlock every enemy. I can understand lazy development if he just has a fulltime job and not a lot of freetime, but in that case he should pause the patreon until he has an actually substantial update to push.

But there is seriously no excuse for lack of images. Once you have a working prompt you can shit out HUNDREDS an hour. Either he's barely working on it or his process for integrating new content is vibe-coded spaghetti that takes way longer than it should.

The patrons are equally responsible imo. Western devs would genuinely have much better output if people were actually serious about cutting off donos if output or quality under-delivered.

Weird thing is I kinda like this game and want it to succeed too, but damn the flaws are just glaring.

didn't even read the patreon fiasco, sounds bad tbh, asking for money for the betas of your game are a horrible sign overall
very few can justify it if they are making exclusive patreon content, but this game is on early early alpha.
charging for you to see images anyone can make for free on generative ai websites are quite low.
and i just saw the date of the initial release, like... thiss isn't just a beta game, it's solid alpha sate, tech demo, call it whatever, there is no content on it, you are playing because you are testing the game mechanics, just 3 stages, and they don't even have unique bosses, full of reused enemies and etc...
Dev is taking way TOO MUCH TIME just to add 4 new enemies that shares same animation as all others for your character.

Not only the linux version is a .pck (no it's just not cool that i have to search how i'm even supposed to launch this stuff) but it's broken to the point i'll have to restart it every event! PLEASE either find another way to compile it properly or just don't! We already struggle enough with any types of games here! Don't make it worst!
Just use Lutris with the windows version. That should work just fine
