"Hello, my dear FreshMen!
This week we made a HUGE breakthrough, and I'd like to share it with you!
One of the problems we were facing on the production of S2E1 was the lack of resolution in our textures.
Don't get me wrong, they were beautiful, and very detailed, but when we increased Freshwomen's resolution to 4K, they just weren't enough. Pores looked stretched out and blurry, colors mixed together. It wasn't good enough, and we didn't want to give you anything but a full quality experience.
So in order to give you the best quality possible at the time of S2E1's launch, we decided to cut every animation that had close-ups. This way, you got great animations without having unsatisfactory textures. Unfortunately, this meant our animators lost an important tool, and this would decrease their productivity a bit.
This week, though, our Lookdev came up with a new method! He repainted a few textures, made new shaders, and adjusted a lot of settings, and now we have FULL 8K TEXTURES IN OUR MODELS! And, to sweeten the deal even more: without impacting VRAM, render times or performance! This means you'll get close-ups back, more animations, and it will look stunning! I mean, just look at the picture! You can open it on a new tab, or zoom it to see all the details.
