Nicki for me is the best written path so far and my favorite story wise unsure if her or Risa is my favorite when it comes to the actual character. Followed by Ashe for me. While what you say about the money is true even to a small degree take Ashe and Risa for example even tho they aren't about the money. Risa just thinks Guy can help because of his money and Ashe probably would of never met guy if it wasn't for the money haha.

True, I found this game while searching for dark genres and I might not have discovered it otherwise, and I'm sure that's the case for a number of others. But I feel like a lot of people are projecting their own preferences and experiences with this game onto the larger audience, which might not be representative. But either way, the game's writing is what truly stands out in the end. Even other popular games that are recommended because of their writing, I don't find nearly as compelling as this one. That's quite a feat.

not really a harem game, you can fuck around if you want in the middle route where you don't commit to anyone, but that ain't a harem. There is so far one romance route with Nicki, if you cheat on her you can fuck that up... options are here for that but I'm not into that. Ashe could be a second romance route, but nothing committed so far. Then there is the dark route, that again ain't a harem.
Dev said corruption route will have full harem, and the romance routes will have throuples and poly(more then 2), I never said full harem, but mini harem.

Guy seemed quite meek and shy at the start of the game, and let's be real, there are way more guys that can identify with that than with a confident lady's man, and that makes a great MC. I wouldn't be surprised if the game leans even harder in that direction for the chp 1 remake; we might see Nicki showing interest in the MC that might seem obvious to the player, but MC might either avoid it or just simply be oblivious to it, because he has such a low opinion of himself. The story shift is that the money has only made it much easier to be his confident true self, which is why the moral choices work so well because it's open-ended on what his 'true self' was that he was shying away from. Just my take on the story.
I did notice I was very harsh towards Nicki, when all she really did was stick with a shitty b.f.
I really liked Nicki from go. For me she never really had any competition.

Hey, hey friends! Hope you're all doing well this week!
I'm going to keep this brief, today. Chapter 10's alpha version is officially available. I've pushed out some early bug-fixes for issues that people reported, and I'm working on adding a couple little items for the beta (11/22) and public (11/30) releases. Just some stuff I wanted in there, that I wasn't able to finish before my deadline. A little extra art for two scenes, a couple script tweaks, and an bonus scene for Ashe, with the player texting her.
I realized we hadn't really seen Ashe in a few chapters, so why not fix that? And as I got to thinking about Ashe, I thought it might be fun to imagine a past where she worked at The Chesty Cheetah while attending college..
At present, I'm mostly focused on managing the current release. But, I'm turning my eye towards the future (or the past?), to the remake of Chapter 1, and some of the accompanying designs for our beloved (and not-so-beloved) characters. As part of the remake, we'll see an earlier introduction of Carolina, while Guy is moving into his swanky new penthouse.
But, I'm also sketching out the outline for Chapter 11. No big spoilers for my plans, but I can tell you we'll be seeing some of Gabby (well, a lot of Gabby..) as well as visiting Ashe at the museum. We might even bump into her crone of a boss. Won't that be fun?
I'm still planning to take December off (during which time I'll be pausing pledges). But, until then I'm going to focus on polishing up the Chapter 10 release, as well as getting some writing done for the Chapter 1 remake. And let's be honest, the workaholic in me probably won't allow me to sit on my duff all December. So, you folks will probably get a little Christmas gift from your buddy Neon.
I'll be here for the rest of the month, updating things as per usual with whatever I'm working on! So, don't tune me out just yet.

Really? Like really? Many of the girls don't have any interest in your money at all. And those who are poor or in need, all desperately want to do something to repay you. Don't get me wrong, not a Nikki hater at all, but that is some far-fetching logic here.
I think going dark in chapter one and then regretting it afterwards is an interesting story, I really hope that it will be polished a bit better when the rework comes. As it stands you can do it, but things get a bit weird if you do. When she returns in chapter three he automatically treats her the same as he did in chapter one at first, which is more than a little weird if you pictured him waking up the morning after and thinking "Fuuuck, what have I done?" and starting his charity to try and make up for it. Also once you get back on her good path, as far as I could see it is completely identical to if you were on it from the beginning. It makes sense that she would want what he did to be in the past, but it having no effect on their relationship at all is maybe a little odd.
Yeah while im not a dark path player I can't watch dark lewd scenes , just read the dialogue. I do like doing Ashe as a dark player then regretting it and not doing it later makes it interesting.
