I’ve always tried to make myself available here. I don’t throw a hissy fit when people leak broken copies of my game, and I spend time trouble-shooting errors for people who haven’t paid for my work.
You're simply too gracious about this. If they want leaked copies, they got what they paid for. Your time is more valuable elsewhere than encouraging/fixing premature pirating.

Hey so I checked with Nicki first choice and patch seems to work(I see the assault option), BUT now after loading latest save I got (end of Ep.8) I do not see any 'dark' choices appearing in EP 9. Sooo.. now I must start completely new game to make them appear?

I tried the assault in first act and everything was there, so I should have the right version. IDK, maybe I played act 8 without a patch so now it won't activate until I start new game?

Well, some of you can give the old "that's just piracy on the internet" thing, which is true, we can't really control what others do aside from ourselves.. but I think it's fair to give devs their lines. We're getting their work for free, which is already pushing on nerves and something I personally have never felt great about, and yet some are even kind enough to give their limited support and let us pick their brain a little. I hope more of my fellow poors/free-riders concede some principle about it, for good of all, hmm? :)

Yep. Sorry, but basically if you don't have the patch enabled when you start a game, important variables and scripts aren't set in place, and enabling after the fact doesn't fix anything.

Technically, you could enable the patch in your save with URM, but.. in your 'vanilla' playthrough, you wouldn't have encountered or been able to choose any patch-quarantined content anyways, which some later dark choices/routes require. You would end up needing to fiddle with many other variables in the end. Plus, it could easily break things going forward.

It'd just be a pain in the ass for you, trust me.. far easier to start a new game. Can skip through previously read stuff and find your place again in less than 15 mins probably.

Sorry for wall, but this is just general walkthrough for URM. Go to bottom for tl;dr if you don't care lol

Start your game -> Alt + M to open it (don't know how in android etc.) -> ok for warning
You should be in variable search tab, so just search for a variable. For example, to search for gabby variables you could search 'gabby' or 'gab' or 'gb' or 'gb_' or '_gb' and so on and so forth. You basically just have to figure out how the dev names their variables. I think 'gabby' should give you all of them, or most of them anyways.

Also keep in mind, that in the search tab, where it says 'search in', you can click on 'variables' and change the search rules; if you don't know what they do, there are question marks next to them.

In that same area, you can also instead search for 'values'. That's for when you have a better idea of what the value of the variable is than what the variable is called. For example, let's say you want to change Gabby's name, but don't know what the variable is called; well, you do know what the value is, it's 'Gabby', so you can search for 'Gabby' and voila, the variable is 'gb.name' and you change her name to whatever you want. Of course, you could've also searched 'variables' for 'name' and gotten the same result (as well as all the other names you can change).

Lastly, you can search for scenes. I've never fiddled with this, so no clue how it works.

Honestly, I'd recommend just playing through the game, you can skip if you want, and when choices for Gabby pop up, there should be a blue indicator at top left 'choices detected'. Pop it open, and you can look at what each decision does under the 'code' column by hitting 'show'. If there's nothing in the code column, then it's either an inconsequential decision (cum on her tits vs her thighs or something) or itself does nothing except branch into a decision tree (look at Risa while she's changing, or don't; each leads to other specific choices unique to the decision).

If you want to be on Gabby' romance route for example, then anything that looks like it gives Gabby happy points (hpts) is good; anything that says 'romance' is good; it might not say romance or anything, so in that case, you're looking for something that affects her relationship status. In FiN, it's the 'gabbyrel' variable; well, now the problem is that the 'value' is a number; what does that number correlate to? Don't know for sure.. it's whatever the dev decided it is. I could be wrong, but for Gabby I think '0' is friend, '1' is romance, '2' is corruption, and '3' is dark; there may be others I'm not aware of, or more routes in future updates. And the numbers are not necessarily the same for all the LIs, so this is basically stuff you have to figure out yourself unless someone else knows. Also, this is could potentially screw up your save in some way, so be careful.

TL;DR Load game -> Alt + M -> ok for warning -> search variables for 'gabbyrel' and change the value to a number that correlates to the status you want. For Gabby, I think '0' is friend, '1' is romance, '2' is corruption, and '3' is dark. You could break your save, so be careful, and so on.

O_O what game did you play, because she's definitely not ok with it at all lol..
Thank you for your explanation. I will do trial and error with Gabby in URM. Hopefully I won´t crash my game.

There is a useful video on the basic usage of URM:

Lastly, you can search for scenes. I've never fiddled with this, so no clue how it works.
Search Option > "Lable/Scenes"
Other Options > "Use Wildcard search"
enter something in the search bar (e.g. *gabby* for all scenes that includes the name Gabby, but there are probably more, depending on the orginal name of the scene)

I’d rather people not post the text of the Sneak Peek posts here, and limit themselves to posting one image from anything behind the pay-walled posts of Sneak Peeks or Wanton Weekends. Also, linking to the posts on SubStar or Boosty would certainly be nice.

I see it like this: my supporters give me money for three reasons. To support development of the game, to receive exclusive content, and to get access to me as a creator.

I’ve always tried to make myself available here. I don’t throw a hissy fit when people leak broken copies of my game, and I spend time trouble-shooting errors for people who haven’t paid for my work.

But, if this place is already leaking my game a couple days after it’s released (or immediately, in case of the Beta), leaking the full text and images of my exclusive content, AND getting access to me — then what are my subscribers getting?

I generally take a positive-to-neutral view of piracy, seeing it as something that drives traffic towards my work. But, having *all* of my content reposted for free? That just doesn’t sit right with me, because it isn’t fair to my subscribers. At the very least, people could wait a week before leaking that stuff.
If you want something for backers that can't be leaked? Polls. Even if you don't want anything at all about the game itself to be determined by polls, you can let backers vote for bonus sets. People can leak the sets once they are made, but backers still got something exclusive.

just not on how the story should go and which character should be prioritized in the next update or stuff like that. It all goes downhill from there when the dev gives in to that.

OK, something is definitely wrong with my game. I started new game with patch and I had all earlier 'dark' options avaible, even checked a few, yet starting from chapter 9 I just don't see them anymore. There was nothing while encountering Cherry and nothing in Motel with Risa(only option to wait until she sobers up), while walkthrough says there should be other options. How can I fix this? Is there perhaps separate patch for latest episodes different from the one linked in OP? Because I even tried to download game again from different link. So far from MEGA and Mixdrop and neither works with dark patch in E9.

You sure you didn't use a patch for the vanilla game?

Yeah, I feel bad for playing the updates when they leak here too tbh. Especially because of how much work & passion NeonGhosts puts in this game.

Anyway, at the moment this is my most commented in thread but if NeonGhosts does leave I don't know if I'll bother with it anymore.

As I said previously. I had all the options during whole game TODAY and checked them as I skipped through old content. Only starting from CH9 I stopped to see the dark options. Also in the OP there is no vanilla version of 0.70B? The vanila is lower and only version 0.59

With a landscape like the one in this niche market, a market full of pirate seites, subscribers or patrons don't sub just to get the game or whatever. Many patreon pages have less activity than their pirate forums siblings. Patreon and the such are patronage sites, you're giving money to artists because you enjoy their works not in exchange for goods.
I understand devs trying to give some exclusive content to attract more subs, but it would be hard to avoid leaks. Better count on it and don't take it bad because I have seen some famous devs going full retarded in that situation :HideThePain:
Sure, and I'm not operating from some stringent anti-piracy position, just asking for some consideration. This is a fairly new thing, having my paywalled stuff posted immediately after I post it on my own platforms. So, I don't think it's out of pocket for me to ask someone to cool it with that. Moreover, I even said that sharing a portion of the content, wouldn't be a huge deal to me. People have done that before, and I don't mind. Ditto for my Dev Updates, which are free to everyone. People are free to share those, and always have been.

I'm choosing to see this as someone (who obviously is supporting me with their money, so thanks!) being a bit overly enthusiastic about sharing my work, without realizing how I might feel about it. There's no hard feelings, I'm just making my position known.

As someone who prefers devs make the content they're most enthusiastic about (which I can then back if I share some of that enthusiasm), I'm not a huge fan of polled content.

90+% of the time when devs do polls about what winds up in the game, I feel like the focus shifts in ways that are detrimental. Maybe one character gets focused on to the point that her content outstrips the others. Maybe every time there's an outfit vote, the skimpiest outfit gets picked.

As for extras, Neon already does a fair amount. I would never have voted for the mini-kinetic novel giving us a prequel of Alex's story, but that's what Neon wanted to make, and I'm happy we got it.

I don't have a solution to the larger issue, but polls certainly have their drawbacks, at least from my perspective.
