One of the two - but I wouldn't give us a choice if I were Neon - it should be about which character he wants her to meet. I wouldn't write in a split path based on where Risa wanted to have dinner. He could even have her meet neither at this point - just have whichever girl not working that day. I'm all for paths and this game has a lot of them, but he should be careful about when/where he puts them and why.

Yeah, I mean it should depend on Neon's story - we shouldn't have a path where Risa has met Pepper and another path where Risa has met Brittani unless Neon has a good reason for it. I mean, all that said, we're worrying about things for no reason. We're just speculating about possible dates - which may not even happen. Who knows what Risa would want to do if you asked her. It might be none of the stuff we've said.

If we do get to take the LI on dates, I hope for something like dancing with Mason in public.
I like the dynamic of Mason not being sure if Guy is really okay being seen with him in public and this could be a god way to show him, he is.

And maybe for Risa, we could take her to a fancy restaurant or something?
I'm really getting excited with the possibility of dates.

Can't wait to take Gabby to Chesty Cheetahs to see her momma on the posters and me flirting with her archnemesis.

Hey, hey! Hope you're all doing well this week, friends!
I'm still largely focused on writing the script for the remade Chapter 1, with my efforts currently centered on the love path ero scene. I'm pretty excited about this one, because I get to right a wrong that had long bothered me about Chapter 1, which sort of undermined Nicki and MC/Guy's dynamic.. No spoilers, but it's a change that I think makes for a big improvement.
But, while I'm writing, I'm still doing some test renders which may end up being used in the final product. Enter: Brent! Look at him -- such a douche. Many of you know that I'm a big fan of comics, and when I write Brent, I've tried to cast him in the model of characters like

. He's not really a bad guy, in the macro sense. But he's an unbearable asshole to be around, because he's a selfish, short-sighted moron. These qualities also just make him super fun to write.
Finally, in my continuing efforts to liven up these posts a bit, I've attached a little homage to the movie Secretary. Starring Maggie Gyllenhaal and James Spader, this was one of the first movies I saw that seriously explored the whole dom/sub dynamic in a way that was nuanced and interesting. If you've never seen it, maybe give it a watch! It's super sweet and funny, while also addressing some of the feelings of shame that tend to be at the core of being wired differently, when it comes to love and sex.

I'll leave you with that today! I should be starting in on actual rendering work by month's end, and then my updates will hopefully be a bit more exciting and informative. But, until then -- take care of yourselves, and thank you for your support!

Oh man, I loved Secretary. I also seriously recommend people watch it if you haven't already. It's sexy, thrilling, sad, happy, serious, funny, everything and it's crafted so exceptionally! Easy to fall in love with the characters and identify with them in some way; I found myself identifying with both of them when I watched it.. oh, forever ago now. I'd love for a Nicki romance path scene reenacting that!

And about Risa, I think she tried to order fast food when her and Guy made it to her house, but her lame butler mentioned keeping her figure. Pfft. So you're actually on point Pixillin'. Haven't had fast food in forever, but one of the best ff burgers I ever had, funny enough, was at DQ. Would love to hang out there with her, bet she'd like the change of pace

only thing not accurate to me I think Risa would have BBQ sauce all over. To me she comes across as a girl that would be a little messy when she eats haha but I love it can't wait for the rework to be done

Hey, hey friends! Hope you're all well this week!
Rendering work on the Chapter 1 remake has officially begun, now that I have most of the script completed. I still need to finish up a couple scenes, but I've got enough runway to keep me busy doing the artwork for February. I'll keep working on the script in the meantime, and hopefully wrap that up in the next couple weeks. It'd be great to switch my writing time to focus on Chapter 11 in March, while I finish working on Chapter 1's renders.
Up top, you'll see two of my finalized renders -- one depicting our hero as a younger man, and another from the present day. While we don't spend a lot of time with Young Guy in Chapter 1, I really enjoyed getting to write a version of our hero, before life just kicked his ass. Plus, tired, miserable Guy sans extraordinary wealth? That's also a lot of fun.
But, as much fun as it is to discuss our oft-dejected hero, let's turn to.. Nicki! The attached render is just a test, hence the unfinished posters on the wall. But, I dig it. A lot of people were kind of upset (for various reasons) when Nicki appeared in Chapter 2 covered in tattoos. Many wanted her to go back to her original look, and for me to hand-wave the entire thing by having her go get them lasered off. While that was never going to happen, I hope this remake gives them all the un-tattooed Nicki they can handle.
Besides showcasing our freckled femme in all her natural glory, it's also been nice to shore up some early plot issues, that had long bothered me. When I started writing this story, I had this version of Guy and Nicki's relationship in my head, where they were work friends, and not really best friends. I think it was so I could contrive an explanation as to why she'd never seen his apartment, or why they'd never gotten together. Maybe something to do with the controlling nature of Brent and Nicki's relationship.. I'm sure I could've told you my reasoning a couple years ago, but I've long forgotten at this point.
But, as I continued writing the story, I kept writing Nicki and Guy as two people that had a deep familiarity with each other, which wouldn't be explained by a 9-to-5 friendship. So, the new and improved Chapter 1 will showcase a bit more of that close friendship, and iron out some of that stuff.

Hmm, this made me wonder, if the first chapter was like that from the start if people would have found that it drags too much.
Ofc us want to see more of them, because we are already invested in the characters, but I'm curious how new players will perceive it.

Honestly the dynamic between Guy & Nicki was the first reason I continued playing the game after chapter one so I'm glad its going to get fleshed out some more.
