Uhm, she wouldn't be out of trouble. Brent uses the money Nicki got from you to double down on his "great idea" and only makes their debt larger. So, Nicki is still on the hook owning money to loan sharks, now even more of it. And by going to Guy she would be bringing that trouble and those loan sharks to his doorstep.

And Guy isn't some action movie protagonist who'd somehow resolve that with Dramatic Action Sequence.

I wasn't going to say anything, but I'll give my thoughts.

Nothing about the remake is a waste of time, the old chapter one was good, but it needed a remake to bring it up to the quality of the later chapters, especially because you only get one first impression on steam.

Every time there is an update people come here spewing negativity even though anyone who even pays a little attention can see how hard NG works.

At this point of the story Guy is still the same pathetic nerd/loser he's been his entire life, just with some extra money. And with endangered friend he cares for, a lot. He doesn't get his "training montage" until between Ch.1 and 2*

If anything, he's the perfect target for loan sharks (at that point)

*) even after he does, you can see how limited his options really are when facing actual, hardened criminals in the late part of the story. Guy isn't some kind of Batman, and his fat wallet is far less of a superpower than it is for Bruce Wayne.

I really like this game and in my experience once a dev starts remaking their game while it's still in development it either means it ends up abandoned or actual new content takes way longer to appear.

Normally, I hate the rewrites because while it usually provides better video fidelity, there's usually nothing much more substantial. I'm a huge fan of the story, and while I usually pander on the darker side of things, I really enjoyed going through this.

I'm assuming, though, that some number of additional chapters will be re-written though, right? Because Nicki's re-appearance in chapter two doesn't make a lot of sense with this new chapter one.

Well, fortunately Chapter 11 does push things forward with Gabby in a big way, on every path (well, less so on the friend path, but..). Unfortunately, sex scenes tend to be the most labor-intensive rendering, and this chapter will have three of them, so that's the biggest threat to a timely release.*

Fucking just make the VN first then remake/rework it when its done.........................

Waste of time because i bet the dev down the line later will just get the idea to rework more and more because they felt things worked so much better with the last rework and so in turn the game will get everything reworked to point its not even "Friends In Need" anymore.

Either way to each their own.
