And I don't think that Neon doesn't care but the complaints that are being continually repeated on the pirate site, aren't really being expressed at all on the site for people that are giving him money. All the recent conversation there has been about who people's favourites are and how much people are looking forward to chapter 11.

I can guarantee that not all the people "giving him money." are exactly fans of it either. Some of us simply decided not to take part in the circle jerk debate after certain members of the community decided that instead of having rational adult discussion the debate should instead sink to the level of insinuating that anyone disagreeing with them were of lower intelligence. That was followed by others then making the same statements. So yeah. It ain't all candy and rainbows over in paidtown, just some of us have bowed out and decided that mayyyybe it's not a place we want to be anymore. Which is okay, not every community is for everyone, just don't assume that just because people are here and not there that they don't pay. Thanks for playing the assumption game though.

Well, I don’t know what to say anymore. I hope this thread goes back to being at least somewhat positive about the game at some point. Personally I liked the new chapter 1. It was exactly what Neon said it was going to be, and I thought it added a lot of depth to the main characters and their backgrounds. It also clarified what kind of person Nicky was and her relationship with the MC. I hope the people that hated it find another game they like because I’m pretty sure that Chapter 1 isn’t going to change again. At any rate, I'm done trying to argue with them.

In my experience, the rudest people are usually the most selfish and usually also have the dumbest, most confidently ill-formed opinions; and on the other side, the most thoughtful people tend to be quiet and express their opinions tentatively. Usually. Like, at least 80% of the time if I had to put a number to it. But either way, not really going to find 'the truth' for a porn VN anyways, it's all horny opinion.

I'm not sure what is really your argument here. If some idiot did such thing to someone i know? I would be pissed off at him. I'd feel bad for the person who was the target. But it wouldn't make me think that the culprit is any less of immature, sexist idiot than a fictional character doing it in a game. One that should be preferably isolated so he couldn't do this shit to anyone else, but an utter moron nonetheless. This sort of idiocy isn't scary, it's just pathetic.

It doesn't really matter if on some level it's petty, or immature, or 'silly' or something, all that matters is it's ultimately dehumanizing and threatening and mentally unstable; obviously it's not real, it's just a story, but I think the feeling of 'this could actually happen' is what Neon was going for, for the player to engross themselves enough into the story so that they see it play out in their head as if it were real; that's how I tend to read good stories, anyways.

Just because an idiot is trying to dehumanize his victim does not mean i'm obliged to subscribe to his deranged point of view, to treat it as if that's all it matters and to not give his bullshit all derision it deserves instead, preferably to his face. I think freaking out and getting "scared shitless" and treating them like some sort of thriller/horror movie villain is nothing but playing right in hands of such people, and i have no interest in enabling them. Quite the opposite.

Brent trying to get Nicki to swing on a strip pole or prostitute herself to pad his bank account is one thing, it's extremely selfish, but what dark Guy did is a whole other kind of fucked up, and Brent would've been one part angry and two parts terrified. I could be misremembering, but I feel like the dark route especially leans into this when Brent comes to 'rescue' Nicki in chp 10, it really justifies it actually; instead of looking like a fucking prick who can't take rejection, he comes off as someone setting aside his self-interest to help someone he cares about that's truly in danger. Of course, with this chp 1 rewrite, that's gonna change.

Brent "coming to Nicki's rescue" after all he'd done is pretty laughable in general, but i'd say it's especially laughable on the dark path, given he's spent months hiding out of town with apparently zero fucks given about stuff Dark Guy did to his girlfriend, instead of actually reacting to it in some manner a person who actually cared about the victim would. But now look out world, Brent is coming all way back to town... so he can then run from Guy like a little bitch.

It's especially silly if you're on the good path - then he's coming to 'rescue' her from the multi-millionaire who took her in when she had nothing, treats her like a princess, gave her an apartment and a good job - working from home. No, it hasn't, neither this thread nor F95Zone overall. These forums have great mods (even though they tend to remove my comments pretty regularly ), who are quick to remove offensive and off-topic content. People who think this is toxic either don't remember how the internet was in the 2000s or are living in echo chambers.

can't agree with that with all the times ive seen arguments over Mason , over zealous dark path conversations and other varies topics from time to time. Yeah the mods do a good job at cleaning it up most of the time but it's enough that I rarely enjoy this thread and only look at once in while out of boredom. To me if I don't enjoy the thread it usually means it's toxic and that is my point of view and opinion of this thread.

I like how the dev changed Nicki, not to mention reworking the outdated visuals.

Now she is as close as possible to the Nicki I imagined: kind, patient, empathetic, optimistic, rather naive girl and probably Guy's only real friend in many years. She is definitely the kind of person whose presence can save your day when you are down. As a cynic, such naivety even irritates me a little, how the fuck can you believe Brent's bullshit for years and swallow his next lie. How could she even get along with him, what do they have in common? Just sex?

Well, if being naive and trusting people is punishable - she learned her lesson the hard way. And I like that despite that she still hasn't lost her old self, even if the Guy treats her like shit, her conversation with Carolina's kid is a very nice and touching scene on any route.

So thanks Neon, great work, I liked it.

When you set up the new thread you can choose "post a poll" option and set up the poll you want. Now people can vote in your thread and discuss the poll and whatever they want, cause the thread is off-topic.

There's just one small problem here. At least someone other than its poster should give a fuck about it. Otherwise, the thread will quickly sink, and the poster will not get the attention to their complaints that they collect in the main thread.

I guess we just disagree. No offense, but I feel like you're coming at it from a cold and distant, analytical point of view. Dark Guy is a pathetic loser, but the shit he does is scary and off-putting because it's so violent and insane. It's like the incels who run their cars into crowds or go on shooting sprees; they may be pathetic losers, but the harm they do is terrifying. Someone writing horrible things on you is an insulting trespass of personal space by itself, but if all dark Guy did was write obscenities on Nicki, sure... it's silly I guess... but combined with all the other things he did, it adds to the disturbing ick factor.
