The original version had a path I thought was really unique where Nikki suggests you could pay a much smaller amount of money to have sex with her, where you both know the money is a just an excuse, a cover story so she doesn't feel bad about cheating. Is there anything like that is in the new version? I couldn't find it, but there are a lot of choices so maybe I missed it. If it got removed, I'm not complaining, I just want to make sure I didn't miss it if it's there.
(The only for-money thing I could find in the new version is the strip-for-cash game, followed by either sex for free or sex for a large amount of money where she is basically just whoring herself. The change to strip-for-cash isn't an issue, but neither of those final sex options are like the above path.)
Due to how it was made (with me writing, and someone else rendering) it just never felt as cohesive as I wanted it to. And I couldn't have as many renders as I wanted, because another dev was doing the art, while working on his own game, so he only had limited time to fuck with it. The new version lingers more on Nicki and Guy's friendship, goes into his original crypto investment a bit more, introduces some characters earlier, and adds more variety to the sex scenes. I wouldn't say it's just a new coat of paint on an old story. It's more like a retelling of the original, with more elements added.
I don't follow development so when I saw the "remake" thing my heart sank, but honestly, this is a really good reason to remake the beginning and FWIW I think you did a great job with it.
(Very minor error: the article about Koin says it went down 99.9%, aka 1000x, and then it went up 5000x, which would only put Guy's gains at 5x. E.g. instead of "it's up 5000x" it should say "it's up to 5000x the original value" or some such.)
