This features 95% of Brittani's submission path. There's just a handful of images missing from when it veers off onto the friendship/neutrality path. Still need to render those, the affection path, and the epilogue, and then set some variables. Render count is over 730 for the new update, and this one features more of my little 2/3 frame animations than any of the other scenes.
Still on track for a Saturday release for $5+ patrons, but I'll be working late to queue up renders.
Also, also - I saw everyone's thoughts on the whole Student Loan: Christmas Special idea, and I'll be real: if I have time, I'll probably do it anyway. Because A) my patrons have been enthusiastic about it and B) the people who talked about using it as a way of avoiding burnout are pretty much on the money. I really enjoy working on FiN, but it's kind of a big, complicated game, with lots of stuff to keep track of. If I can take a couple of days and work on something comparatively easier, it does a lot to recharge my batteries.
It's sort of the difference between building a house, and a birdhouse. The house is more useful and ultimately rewarding, but the birdhouse provides the instant gratification of an easy, mindless one-day project. And I'm careful not to devote too much time to any of these things. The original Student Loan was written in a day or two, and took something like a week to render. The FiN Halloween Special was done in two days, aside from the extra photos that were edited in later, which added a couple hours.
Again though, it's far from a foregone conclusion that I'll even have time. In addition to my day job, I'm writing a fantasy novel with some porn-y elements, drawing a comic, and doing FiN. And it's the holidays. So, I'm very tired.
