Sad to hear, but what can you do. Is she (maybe) getting demoted because of (less) popularity and wanting to reign in your LI count? Or did you decide that her writing wasn't quite going as good after all? Or maybe her character just isn't as justified for the overall story as the others?

I should say, Alex has a scene of like 70+ renders in Chapter 9. So, my definition of a demotion may be.. Skewed. I had a plan for Alex originally, which would have had her much more involved in some of the bigger plot developments. Now, some of those plotlines have been abandoned, and others have been parted out to other characters. Some changed so that her inclusion wasn't really as necessary. That's all it is. I don't really worry about the popularity of any character, because I've kind of learned that every character is someone's favorite.

For now, I just don't see a ton of meat on that bone. But.. Things change! Give me a few more chapters and I may find a perfect role for her.

Usually we get the futa version in some games, Male to Female transformation. To me Mason is an original idea in western vns. That being said I think that makes him/her a polarizing character. As a straight male I'm not that interested in female to male tf.
Forcing her to wear female clothes and the such in the dark path feels double bad because she's mentally handicapped on top of the gender thing. On the other hand If you go trans route you have basically a gay relationship.

Risa's storyline is like that to a lesser degree too imo.

Yeah, stuff like that is harder for a porn game because at the end of the day, regardless of anyone's opinions on gender politics and what not, they still want to be attracted to the LI in the game. And most of us, again despite what we support or don't support, find Mason attractive right now, but wouldn't if he ended up looking like an actual man.

But you're right, though. It would be a really sweet story beat in a friend route. Or even in like.. a bittersweet romance route where the MC makes the decision to support Mason's transition (if that's what Mason really wants) while distancing himself romantically and moving on. I wouldn't do it, cause at the end of the day this is mostly porn for me (story's ofc phenomenal, but still).

Anyways, I'm so glad Neon has better taste than to club political takes over our heads in his game . And no, Mason existing as a character is not that. I'm reminded of a game I recently played that had the most awkward scene referencing political garbage. And it doesn't get any better even if you agree with it, either. It's just not a good way to write a porn game.. for one, it completely ruins your boner, I mean come on wtf is even the goal of porn games these days

OMG, I'll be soooo happy if Mason is a twink/trap trans man I find them attractive. It's basically a more extreme tomboy And I personally would rather not have to feel too guilty on a romance route where Mason wants a ton of hormones and stuff, to the point where he'll be too masculine for my tastes. It's one of those things that's good for story and a feeling of doing what's right to help someone in need, but completely runs counter to a porn VN where your LI basically becomes the opposite of what you're into. I'd imagine you had that in mind when writing Mason, though! Glad that's one thing I don't have to worry about anymore

I would be surprised if it weren't like that. I mean, if Mason can have the surgery it will be because Guy is paying for it. And if Guy pays it, it will be because the player decides to do so. I would be very surprised if the game didn't give you the option not to do it, honestly.
By the way, if I have the opportunity to pay for the surgery, I will. I'm not into the futa thing, but that boy makes me very tender and I want to help him even if that closes the doors of being an LI for me.

Unless NeonGhost at a certain points really want to write the story of Mason's transiction. But as PHIL101-YYouPPHard said, if Mason is to be romanceable, becoming a full equipped man would be out of the scope of a lot o players who might want to go for the route.
While having it as a willing option might be cool, even for those players who are not interest in Mason route but want so see a fulfilling ending for the character.

Yes, I agree with that. A Mason with a penis would not be a sexual option for many players. But this game gives you a lot of choices with each character, and I would be very surprised if a decision like that didn't fall into the player's hands. For example, it is not up to the player to decide whether to buy Nicky an apartment or not. But that is not a capital decision for your relationship with her. Instead, whether Mason has a penis or not is vital to deciding whether you want him to be LI or not. Not leaving that in the player's hands would be a big mistake.

the chapter 1 rework isn't until after the next update. So come back in 2 more updates if you want to wait for it to happen. Think the next update should be pretty soon if I recall I think estimated timeframe is end of May so you basically just got to wait for 1 more update + 1 - 2 months give or take for the rework.

No thanks Mason should stay as she is. If the dev chose to go down this moronic route with her, furthering her delusions and giving her the funds to mutilate herself would ruin any and all appeal her character has left.
