For anyone who wants to play the latest update, please don't. This is clearly still a beta build as many renders aren't yet finished and are replaced by Placeholders. Best to wait until the public version comes out.

Or how about the fact they didn't take your phones away, so if you had actually said something before hand, your entire time there the Mc could've used his phone to secretly audio record the entire conversation.

Yea...I kind of hope the entire Lucien thing is a very small blip in the story and just gets resolved quick. It just felt really...like force fed over the top evil character. Like the kind of character that sits in a twirly chair and does an evil laugh while twiddling his fingers together. It was one step removed from a 4th wall breaking quote that just said "Hey, this is a bad guy". Like yea, hes a drug dealer, who abuses his GFs, and also shoots rape porn, who forces girls to take drugs, who tries to extort rich people by blackmailing them, who also likes guns. Like I get it, hes a bad guy. He is just a hyper flat character.

Also, this didn't cross my mind until this update but why the fuxk doesn't mc have a bodyguard? He's a multimillionaire, he's been assaulted more than once, and he's been threatened more timed in this update ...

I mean it has been said multiple times who is gonna be in this update. But what you played wasn't even the full update anyways it was just a demo build that was leaked the full on should be in a week or 2 I think

Then everyone would laugh at your foolishness considering Neon lets it know in advance who's going to be in each update and this is still a beta test version.
This is the first update I am playing in a while and just wanted to let you know this is one of my 3 fav if not my fav game on this site
i'd hold off a bit it's not the full update just a beta build that got leaked. the full one I think not going to be much longer

I miss not being able to leave Risa there the moment she gets out of the car. Why would I risk helping someone you hardly know and on top of that she takes you there under false pretences? After that I don't care about her story, if she doesn't care about our safety, why should we care about her?
It has to be nice to be innocent enough to think of a character like this as something so unrealistic. Sure the real deal wouldn't info dump his evil doings on the first meeting...but people like that exist everywhere sadly.

Also Neon separated the update in two. Chapter 10 will have the rest of the content that originally should be in 9: Mason, Gabby and Madison.
I mean, sure it happens but come on. There are significantly better ways to write an evil character than just pure exposition of every crime he has ever committed in a 2 min info dump. It just feels hyper campy to the point of not taking itself seriously. He honestly feels like an austin powers villain.

Lucien serves a very important part in the story on a thematic level. He is a warning to Guy showing him what he will become if he continues down the dark path. Guy has an injury to his eye, Lucien has a missing eye. He even kinda has Guy's sardonic sense of humor. He has the same grift that Guy used on Brittani and Ashe in the dark path. Lucien is a warning bell, a dark mirror, a preview of what is to come. Kinda like when Luke cut off Darth Vader's hand and then looked at his own robot hand. Will the player listen to the warning bell, though? The canary is in the coal mine, but will Guy pay attention when it dies?

Man, this update was brutal.
I really hope that in the final version we can choose to view or get a summery of what happened to "Ginger" as watching her getting dicked down nearly made me close my game and move on to something else. Honestly, things like that, and the recap of the girl Risa failed, i wish there was just a cut right before or an option to not see it. It happens canonically, understood, give me the cliff notes, don't make me see it.
The other parts of the update I liked, Pepper and her twin is an interesting reveal! Love me my Tsundere goth girl, and her kinkier sister, hopefully we can rescue both of them. (and fuck the shit out of em). Wish we could still have a scene with Risa even with visiting Pepper. Liking Risa more and more as she lets her guard down around us.
I still go back to the Nikki scene of her saying "Baby, tonight we are going to make a movie" and her appearing in her boy-shorts for us is one of the best decisions Neon ever made, I'm glad I girl-friended her up. (Going to wife that woman.) Hopefully she doesn't hold against me all the other chicks I'm fucking which seems to be.... (Checks notes) as many as can be had in a single playthrough.

Just go to the game sub-folder, open patch.rpy with a text editor, and then change False to True.
I still don't understand why some uploaders don't activate the "patch" for the complete version.
