Yes, the endless circular conversations about semantics are, in fact, very lame.
Of course, man. I'm personally ambivalent to NTR. I'm just saying the discussions about it are fascinating.
It is like a magic word that causes a cascade of comments to flood in and it is always a funny read.

I understand that there are different flavors, but if you read context at all you'll know that the big one is netorare - but generally anything that involves anyone but MC putting their dick into one of the Lis (in my case, I don't even want other women to be with them) - no swinging, sharing, netorare, cuck, threesomes ... nada but really if you know how to read context, the semantics are unimportant.

If that's the case, I'll get some chart that shows all the varieties of NTR and post it when telling people I don't want NTR - because regardless of which kind we're talking about, I don't want any.

Which is why avoidable NTR is best for people like you but creators that also want to tell the story how they want it. I'm not a big NTR lover tho I do play some NTR games for variety or when bored. I do however see how in some games or stories it can be used for some decent story telling , when it isn't about the fetish.

That's fine but those aren't the stories I want. I've downloaded to many games that said NTR (optional or avoidable) only to find out the the only choices in the game were about NTR - like I had to say no 20 times and the game ended up being really short. So I'm just going to skip any future games that say NTR (or Netorare or ... any version thereof, or swinging or sharing) even if it says it's optional.

I think it would be more effective to stop mislabeling it NTR and simply say you don't want any dicks beyond the MC's in the game. It's a fairly popular stance (especially in harem games), but it isn't a flavor of NTR. Some NTR flavors are a subset of it, but using NTR as a blanket term for solely MC-focused content generates more heat than light.
Personally, I'd prefer if more games included consensual sharing since I think it has a lot of potential, but games tend to gravitate towards either hardcore humiliation of the MC or LIs that only have eyes for him. Friends In Need certainly has plenty of opportunities in that regard, but it has so many branches that I don't think adding sharing would be the best use of Neon's time. Better to keep the focus squarely on the MC's mindset/behavior.

I'm just not going to download anything anymore if it says NTR (or any variation of NTR) or swinging / sharing ... anything at all related, even if it says it's avoidable or optional. It's just game killing for me.

can't say I have seen a game like that yet but I can understand the hate for if you keep having to say no. Personally I'm only okay with it if it's used as story telling otherwise and not used as a fetish, that the MC is into. Cause that's what pure NTR games are for. Either way we will see if it gets added or not on the dark path I can't see it ever being added on the light path. So unless you are a dark path player pretty sure it's safe to say you will never see it.
also double check threads if you find a game you are interested in that it isn't misslabed ive seen 1 or 2 games where the tag doesn't belong.
Yeah. I guess most of this discourse could be avoided if there was a tag specifically for those things in the search function. Cheating is a way too vague term and encompasses a broad spectrum of things (MC is the one doing the cheating, LI is cheating with the MC, etc.)
