Well regarding the remake, I would not have needed the lengthy introduction on the relation and past that Guy/Nikki had tbh.
Their emotional connection of the two was quite clear to me, but I acknowledge the disucssion some had here about that ...
Nevertheless playing the remake makes it clearer to me what I'm missing here: MILFs and hot scenes with'm
There the same fruite in diffrent colors does not make a fruite salat. So all LI are "more on the younger side" and Madison would make so good for (a) lewd scenes, also the new introduced Rose.
To be clear I'm the white knight, with not much dark points.
Also I noticed some inconsistenies about Mason (my point of view), what is not with the remake but in general. He loves reading but has no glasses when meeting guy and gets his card handed and has a hard time reading it: (See resolution)
And also some strange facial expressions of Ashe but this is also not a remake "issue"

I'll skim over the first two points. I felt the same about Nikki but am still glad we got some elaboration to clear up any misconceptions about who she was, and who she was to Guy in the first chapter. Milfs are great, especially at my age since they can be a milf and still young enough to be my daughter but this game has so many women going on that we will never get "enough" content for most of them at this point.
As for Mason, my eyes are bad. I can read without my glasses but it's a lot more work - and I read much more slowly. If the print on the card is small (and it usually is) that makes it even harder. If it's really small print, I can't read it at all without my glasses or a magnifying glass.

Idk if you're just trolling but there is. Besides Chapter 1, some new renders, characters and story updates for Chapter 2-3 which makes the story flow better. Chapter 4-7 are more or less the same.
Normally I'm a doomsayer when it comes to remakes, but in this case it did kind of need it. The vibe and tone of the game was completely at odds with the first few chapters, so updating them to be more coherent makes sense.
Now, if it follows the normal "remake" trajectory of never making any progress, updates getting further and further apart, and then basically stalling out, then yes I'll retract this good faith approach.

It was a great game before the remaster, it’s not clear why it would scare people away (maybe I’m just not picky), there are worse projects on Steam, they don’t really scare anyone away, people buy them.

Well the remake is already mostly done, the main that had to be remade was chapter one and the stuff between 1 and 2, the rest is just small touch ups which is probably what the last 3 chapters will get. And chapter 11 has already gotten lots of work done a teaser even released to high level patrons.

The dark path seems to be less dark than before the update. Any others with this experience?

So I played the remake. I've been following the game already for a bit before the decision was made to do it, but I decided to hold off until the remake was finished. I will say I like certain things from it, but found others a bit too stretched out? Mainly the prologue. It could just be that I'm used to the OG getting to the point and the new content wanting to give me his full backstory, damn near. For a new player, I imagine it wouldn't bother them too much. But I already know the content I really want to see so getting there without skimming was some what of a struggle. Not that the changed content is bad. I like the addition of Lane and Jun (I don't remember those two being a thing). But they don't seem to be getting integrated into the story more until the story progressed passed the previous point?
That said, it was alright. I actually don't think I ever gave my thoughts on this game. Now that I thought about it. Well, I play with the dark path enabled for certain characters. Mostly Nicki since she's kind of annoying, if I'm being honest. Favorite LI? Ashe and Madison. Ashe had a pretty good additional scene. Madison, who I'm down bad for, unfortunately the wait continues. There's also others like Carolina, Brittani and Pepper being some of the few ones I like. The others need a bit more content first. Though, I feel like Brittani's mom will be an exclusive dark path character for my Guy. As for the story. It's admittedly not really nothing too crazy. It's good and gets the job done. The interactions and sex are pretty good though. And that's honestly more than enough to keep my interest.
Anyway, I look forward to the future releases. The remake/rework didn't really bother me too much, personally. Hopefully, there's Madison content coming soon though. What happened with Jun has me even more eager to see Madison development.

IIRC Nicki's model in the prologue was older/bit different than the one she gets after the time skip. The game now uses the same model from the start.

Function is now natively in the game, so the patch isn't required anymore

That model might have been ok but how it was used, well let's say it could give people nightmares
. The remake is 1000% better now and it fits better in the overall narrative.

As I've played I've changed my opinion. I now prefer the new model. I guess that scene with the hair bobs really didn't do it for me.
