I like the new scenes but everything seems so dumbed down

The fact that the patch is empty is normal as the game just checks if said patch if present and triggers accordingly. If it doesn't work for you I'm not sure why. Keep in mind that you have to make dark choices and gain dark points for the choices to be avaible, i.e. if you were kind to everyone but later want to suddenly change to the dark path that is not possible (that's my understanding, I'll let others and those that have messed around in the game files correct me if I'm wrong).
The original was better by far. Not worth the wait or setback on the progress of the story

Even if it ain't true, thing is we got nothing new in like 1 year, only watered down first chapters.. plus Nicky is still as insufferable as she was before !

agree with the "not worth" part, but was not really better
The original chp 1 had a strong incel feel to it without a whole lot of context or setup; Guy mostly just feels pathetic. The later chapters, even chp 2, feel very different, everything's much more carefully and thoughtfully fleshed out. It was pretty jarring. Now, chp 1 matches the other chapters really well. Everything's setup nicely and Guy doesn't feel like a pathetic incel anymore even though I guess he is if you wanna be technical; you actually feel bad for him and can relate. I have to scratch my head when people say they prefer the original.

There was a plan to allow anal during Viola's dark scene in the changing room, if you had the lotion. It has not been implemented for a variety of reasons. Fine by me - that scene is rough enough as is. The poor girl would probably litterally die, as big as Guy is.

Incorrect. There has been a ton of new content. Chapter 1 and the start of Chapter 2 are all new, and chapter 11 has a bunch of new material, and is nearing completion. That's not even mentioning the short stories related to the game, which are both quite interesting. Chapter 11 just hasn't leaked, and probably isn't going to. So far, it's great, and the scenes which will be in the end of the chapter are gonna be amazing. It has a couple shots in it which are genuinely emotionally moving, and one of the hottest single frames of a woman in the whole game. Neon had thought about releasing a partial chapter, but those of us who pay for the project universally told him to hold off until it was properly finished. Partially, because we want to see the planned last section, but mostly, because a partial release is going to be criticized just as much as no release, so why give the trolls anything.

Because of the remake, I am confused about the story progression. Could someone kindly tell me in which chapter is Ashe raped and streamed?

The number slips my mind, but you can drug her and stream her at the end of the date where you pick her up from her parent's house. Chapter 8 maybe?
I had previously just finished the chapter 8 remake, and this was in fact what got me wondering. In that date, I could be either kind or insulting to Ashe and then had a brief jacuzzi time with her, but that was all. Did I miss some crucial step or is there another date in later chapters?

The only necessary steps I see are : having the patch installed of course, having enough dark points and having the allergy pills from the bookstore. Outside of that I'm not sure...

I mean, in the original chp 1, she's practically a coworker you barely know from the player's perspective. Dark MC rages and grapes her because.. she needed money and that makes her a gold digger, which isn't even true if you play the other routes. He comes off as very hurt by her. So, Guy is just being a pathetic angry incel. For romance Guy, it felt like he had an infatuation with her that she kinda reciprocated? It just felt a little weak. Findom Guy was the only chp 1 route that felt respectable, just imo. I didn't really care for Nicki in the beginning until later chapters develop her a lot better.
New chp 1, dark Guy grapes her because he feels like it, because he feels rich and powerful and because he can. Also pathetic, but it feels... actually, it feels like you said about chp 1, like an asshole doing whatever. I'm sure there's some internal character reasons he did it, maybe anger and blame because Nicki didn't give him the romantic attention he thought he deserved, but it's masked pretty well if that's the case. Love path felt properly fleshed out, and it didn't feel one-sided, but like two good friends that finally made a move on their romantic feelings. I really liked Nicki's character in this chapter.
The third time I go to the bookstore, after meeting Ashe's one-legged friend, Gabby breaks up with MC without any option of changing her mind. Can't find anything about this in the walkthrough (still covered by it). I thought it would have to do with Brittani's photoshoot but that doesn't seem to be it. Anyone know what variable I have to take to avoid this no-choice breakup? MC's always been on a romantic path with her, even in the darkest mind runthrough (man, it is dark).

As I've said before, since the rework I cannot go on the dark path with Nikki precisely because her and Guy's relationship is so much more fleshed out. NOW it makes sense (or at least more sense) for me to go on her romance or at least friends path. As you've said, before, she felt more like an opportunist/gold digger, now she's a good friend/crush that has problems because of a shitty relationship.
That would actually be my only complaint about the rework : beginning on the dark path with Nikki on chapter 1 just seems real sociopathic and kinda comes out of nowhere, to me. That's obviously just my feeling and I'm not sure I could back this up with actual arguments ^^.
So, yeah: original chapter 1 seems way more incel-y to me, too.

It's just drama for the narrative, can't avoid it. Just gotta trust the author.
Just to clarify, I meant that dark Guy perceived her as being a gold digger (as did a lot of players, I guess), not me. My first impression about her, before I played other routes and got more context, was that either she wasn't coming off like the author intended, or that she was being evasive, but even then, she didn't come off like a gold digger to me; she seemed genuine, but also like she was hiding something. And, I guess what she was hiding was that Brent manipulated her into coming on false pretenses for money to pay off his debts. So, kudos to Neon for executing that complexity in the original.
It seems some players interpreted the evasiveness as false feelings for Guy altogether, and maybe that was sort of the author's intention at the time?It's still obviously real sociopathic to assault a woman that's after your money, though
Same for the other LIs, too. So, I never really understood why some people playing the dark route seem to have a problem assaulting Nicki now, but evidently assaulted the other LIs without any issue? It's all the same to me, a psycho Guy seeking pleasure through power and control.
