I think Brittani hinted at her mother during her photoshoot. Just based on the description I figured she was going to be a pain so meeting her was strangely refreshing because it just confirmed my suspicions.

So I know I said before that Isabella is an evil bitch. But I still feel bad for her.
I'm not excusing how she treats Brittani but I don't think life has always been kind to her.
So she has built a wall around herself and hasn't let anyone in for a long time.

Maybe by treating Brittani right we can show her mum that there are nice people out there.

Well, I'm really behind on reading through this game's thread and all of the pointless typical internet arguments where people try to dunk on each other are really getting in the way of catching up... guys, if you really want to have these arguments, there are off-topic forums or other platforms to go to, like reddit and twitter and blah blah. Anyways..

It's going to be pretty different, I'm afraid. I've said this before, but the 0-to-60 dark path in Chapter One makes Nicki's reappearance a little harder to believe, in my view. I think it'd be better for the story if it was something where Nicki can reasonably feel betrayed and hurt, but still willing to give Guy the benefit of the doubt.

Plus, originally I'd kind of written Nicki to be more like a work friend, not a best friend. Over time that shifted, and I made it clear that Nicki and Guy saw each other outside work quite a bit. So, some of her characterization in Chapter One stands at odds with how she is later.

I completely agree that the dark path in chp 1 as it exists interferes w/ our suspension of disbelief for her character, but just wanted to add that another benefit of having a really dark choice in the beginning is to introduce new players to the kinds of 'activities' they can expect throughout the game. I mean, maybe the dark path having a delayed start might not matter at all in the end, I don't know. Unless you're still going to leave in a dark path choice, just soften it up?

I don't like that last scene at all because we're forced to go along with Risa no matter what. I suppose we can't avoid it because plot reasons but still. Dealing with junkies and dealers is a very bad idea, there should be an option to tell her to fuck off.

That's a bit extreme imo, I just know junkies irl and I know how they are. They will stab you for a dose if they have too. When you're an addict your addiction goes 1st before everything else. Also is not a bad idea for the game, this is about charity and helping/abusing others.

Yeah I admit I'm concerned with the darker path stuff encroaching into the side I really enjoy which is the light-er side of the game. I can't stomach the other side as it just hits too close to home for situations in RL. I may have to dip out as well if it goes how I think it goes. I had a hard a very time giving the game a chance in the beginning because of that side of the game.

That's not to say "Hey dev change it" not in the least, make the game you want to make. Lot of people enjoy the game as it is. Lord knows I seem to be overly picky about things compared to other people.


And also this is just a tiny thread of something not fully shown yet. Until we play the next update I'm not going to make any snap decisions. I might be pleasantly surprised who knows.
