It will however require a restart as saves will be broken (unless he manages a way to avoid that)...so perhaps best to wait, which is exactly what I'm doing as have a lot of saves for this I'll have to redo.

I can't wait for the rewrite of the first eps. Not sure when but I'm waitin to restart when the rewrite happens. It should bring better Nikki choices and to get on her friend path at that point.

Yeah, there are a few writing choices that push her to the "manipulative" side. Her dressing up, both of them not keeping the friendship going after Guy resigns, and her not standing up for Guy when Brent insults/berates him... I want her to be shown as an actual friend who doesn't come to Guy for money. Guy could see that she's stressed, maybe isn't taking good care of herself, then pressures her to tell him what's going on. Then, the choice of how to handle it would really have an impact for me, and I would be more inclined to give her the money. Still, she has to show agency. I'm tired of the trope that the LI is the victim, her mistakes never her own fault.

Well, unfortunately there is a limit in choices even to the best VNs. At last you can full friendzone Nicky and after that she's basically a secretary. There are a lot of games where i would like to go like "no, get the fuck lost Maya and Josy" or "no, Melody, i don't give a fuck of your music career" but the game doesn't work without some character. At last you are not bound to unavoidable choices like "Do you like Haley?" "Well, really, no. Not at all..." "WRONG! You like Haley! Live with that!".

Oh, absolutely. These are just my thoughts and remarks while playing, they're not criticism per se. I do think the available options betray Guy's way of thinking. And, he's really not thinking clearly as soon as a pretty woman comes into the picture. (His sudden interest in the bookstore is another good example of that. I turned down Ashe, and the next morning he'll remark she'd make a good friend. Except they move in different circles and she's dumb as a rock. She'd make good arm-candy, that's about it.)

- Treat her with kindness
- Offer to pay her for sex
- Assault her violently
Why not a "I'll give you a loan without interest", or a "No, please leave?".

Technically there is an anti nicki patch that allows for that choice to happen.

Nicki works best for me when I ignore her and concentrate on other girls because she doesn't annoy me as much as most but she's so damn needy. I let her live her life and treat her with kindness cuz shes a good assistant

In my opinion, Ashe is fun if you play her in a certain way. Cant seduce and fuck her, cant be violent with her. You have to corrupt her, meaning you have to blackmail her into sex and on the second forced date, tell her what people really think of her. Once her real attitude comes out, she's quite the fun little firecracker

She meets a completely trashy self-involved douche bag piece of shit loser (Brent), and decides to spread her legs for him. She continues to stay with him despite him constantly pulling idiotic shit, and generally behaving like a low class asshole (including, notably, the way he is constantly rude to the MC who is supposed to be her 'best friend' right?)

Then she goes to MC to ask for money to bail out this douche nozzle boyfriend of hers, then cheats on him (Brent) with the MC, and by the way doesn't use a condom, nothing LMAO - then goes back to the motherfucker and basically ghosts the MC.

Then she continues to tolerate him being a POS, he gets her in REAL trouble, she bails, winds up with some OTHER SKETCHY MFer and goes down this rabbit hole of taking nudes, allowing herself to be covered in tattoos she doesn't even want, etc... like literally she was probably one step away from him making a skin suit out of her flesh. She LUCKED THE FUCK OUT when he ditched her.

Then she meets up with another sketchy MFer who she has repeatedly acknowledged she knows is a sketchy MFer with bad intentions for her, and WILLINGLY SHOWS UP to shoot more sketchy adult content for him, and then makes the surprise pikachu face when she gets there and the sketchy ass loan shark scumbag, who again, she knows has bad intentions for her, tries to force her to short hardcore porn instead of just taking solo photos. (Honestly she is lucky he didn't just straight up gangbang her with his buddies and film that.)

Holy fucking shit people AT WHAT POINT do you treat this woman, who is not a fucking child, like an ADULT, and start expecting her to be accountable for her own terrible decisions?

eh I wouldn't go as far as to say she is a terrible person but that is just a matter of personal opinion. Now yeah I agree there is no defending her mistakes that is true. But for me it's about how sympathetic and understanding I am of her. That and well she felt genuine in her explanation so I trust her. That is part of the reason she is my favorite character and in my top 10 LI list also I do have a thing for LI that has some kind of trauma or going through some shit as it makes me want to be there for them and help them no matter what, as long as I feel like I can trust them. But that speaks more about my personality cause i'm too nice of a person without a backbone really and i'm very forgiving and understanding and don't have it in me to really say no or say you are on your own unless it's a complete stranger. ( tho id probably having hard time saying no to a stranger if it was pretty girl in certain circumstances as well depending on the context)

Are you referencing the dead bedroom? Because regardless of that, he isn't wrong, they were still in a relationship, and she cheated on Brent with Guy (at least if you pick the top option).

Ash is by far the best character...and this is by far the best route in the game. I love the humiliation/corruption route for Ashe.

I'll give her a try on my next playthrough. I probably closed her path already by not inviting her to the condo.
