Yeah Pepper is not Sapphire. The girl's name was even mentioned as Emily in this mini update.
As ffive mentioned above she can't be a prisioner in some unknown wharehouse while still working at that cafeteria.
I was thinking the same. Wanted to write about that when i played the update but somehow i don't remember anymore in which part of the main game that was alluded to.

I think it was pretty much spoiled by Neon to be the real scenario, since I remember bitching and moaning
the moment I though he ruined Pepper with my least favorite trope in AVNs, Onlyfans/camgirls.

Twins eh? One of the things I'm looking forward to in this game is watching people's heads explode because it's not a harem game. I believe they're more getting at the fact that it'd be physically impossible for a person to do actual 24/7 shifts for prolonged time. There must be two of them in there (at least) simply because a person needs to get their 7-8 hours of sleep to function.

That could also help explain why she looks so tired.
I don't think this is really enough of explanation -- if you go for more than couple days without sleep it pretty much starts to cook your brain, causing hallucinations and only getting worse as it goes. More than that and they'd be effectively killing what's supposed to be their biggest earner. And Sapphire is supposed to physically be there 24/7 -- in the main game they even keep her there in the morning when there's little to no customers showing up.
