In games with many LIs whenever I read comments by people complaining or whining that "their" character isn't in the game enough or how long it will take for them to appear again, I am just thankful that I can find something to like in almost any character as long as they are well written.

Of course, I have my favourites, but there is only one girl I really don't like so far, because she's pissing Gabriella off so much. Well and me, of course. Apart from that, I have fun with every LI so far. And I am really looking forward to getting to know a bit more about Viola, who my MC had next to no interaction with.

I honestly couldn't think of anything more random. Probably the best match would be between Pepper and Ashe to be honest. A lot of cheap heat and flexing in that one. But don't underestimate Viola. She's probably the type to pretend to be crying against the turnbuckle and then once Pepper gets distracted by her manager running into the ring (something for that tall asshole to do other than drugs) Viola would belt her over the head with a steel chair.

For me, there's a third factor. If the character models don't look good or they just look funny. It's rare but there are a few games I just stopped playing in the middle of trying them because of that factor. Most of the time, it's the opposite. The renders and designs look fantastic (or at least good enough) but the story would be written like it was done by some cringelord weeb or someone without a "voice" who just gets their writing cues from whatever is currently popular with hack writers.

oh yeah, definitely lol... geez, you gave me flashbacks. it takes SO long to find a good VN worth the time on this site that the 'urge' just fizzles out by the time you find something that's probably only above average (nothing to scoff at, mind you). im just glad ive even found as many excellent games as i have; they update regularly enough that i havent had to search for a new game in like... man... probably almost a year. i mean, i have a text file where i've built a list of 'maybes' from forever ago to check out and just go through 1 or 2 items on that list when i feel like something new (which usually ends up in the recycle bin, ofc), but i havent actually searched for a new game on this site in all that time. i should probably comb through again in case there's any new, promising ones... but i also dont want to disappoint myself and feel like i wasted my free time. first world problems i guess..

So imo most players will tolerate games with 2/3 of these things, and typically it's the dialogue than draws the short stick; which I can't fault people for, it's a helluva lot easier to hold the ctrl key down and fap to legit hot sex than bate to hours of sexless droning narratives, however brilliant they may be.

This game definitely has potential to join that 3-star-michelin-porn club, with existing members like PC, LOF, DS, BADIK.

I've found games are much like that with the three categories we've all mentioned. Optimally, a game has all 3 but we often find ourselves playing games with beautiful renders and good writing but crap sex COUGH OCEANLAB or alternatively, great boobies and sex but snorefest weeb dialogue. So imo most players will tolerate games with 2/3 of these things, and typically it's the dialogue than draws the short stick; which I can't fault people for, it's a helluva lot easier to hold the ctrl key down and fap to legit hot sex than bate to hours of sexless droning narratives, however brilliant they may be.

Completely agree! It's refreshing not having to settle. I mean, repeating myself for the nth time, but I'm not even 100% certain I have a favorite character in this game, I just go on whatever ride's offered to me and get off feeling satisfied haha

If it reads bad I drop it. It doesn't have to read great, but if it's unintelligible it's gone regardless of the other aspects. I'm here to read not to lead... Errr yeah.

Damn, I've actually been finding that most of the games I'm following are doing like 1 update per year at this point. I've been too preoccupied anyway to actually play anything anyway (Steam sales lol) but it's kind of a bummer that there wasn't anything updated yet during my small break. Oh well, I still have this feeling that these dev cycles more or less sync at some point and that a good amount of updates will drop within the next month or two.

True. I guess I'm asking for too much lol. Still, it's kind of like opportunity cost with time. I could either be playing something mediocre or just do something else with my free time. Although of those three I'm willing to put up with terrible dialogue to the point where I'll just do exactly what you said, hold ctrl until I get to the good parts. Sex scenes are cool and without them it'd be like a sandwich without bread but there's something about reading a great story in these games that refreshes me. It's like the difference between a cold-cut bologna sandwich and a chicken parm sub.

It's understandable. Most people who can actually write would want to branch out into other mediums thus you get a lot of devs who just simply don't have the chops. Although, I'm not asking for Dostoevsky here. Just something passable like SG or BADIK(point of contention, I know). Which is why I get really hooked on a VN when I actually find someone who can write.
It's just that I wish the review system was a little more credible. People give 5 stars out too easily or alternatively, review bomb games for small things.

I also definitely think this game has the potential to be in that top 1% of VNs. There's honestly not much else that it needs to get there since it's already in the upper tiers and Neon's learning at a fast pace. Still, I wouldn't be able to decide between the quick updates we have now or 2 updates per year with sound, music, all those fireworks and bells and whistles that seem superfluous when devs start approaching 1 update per year.
