I'd say no one bothered to leak the vanilla version, so that’s why it’s behind the normal version.

I think the vanilla version is just behind - maybe Neon is waiting to rework Ch 1 before updating the vanilla. The thing is that the vanilla is only good for selling in places that don't allow darker content. There is nothing in that version that isn't in the regular version - it's just that in the regular version vanilla is one of the options instead of the only option.

EDIT: actually, I looked at the code out of curiosity, and it seems that if you're on her 'no relationship path' aka friend path and she's afraid of you, it's impossible to bring her to the alley. If you're just on her friend route, but she's not afraid, you can bring her. Is this intended NeonGhosts? Line 12411.

EDIT2: btw Neon, there's a typo here in the script: "Your feel ice in your guts, and you know in your heart that the conversation is over.". Back in the early chapters.

Fighting a bad virus right now and for some reason dug in the code some more out of curiosity about Gabby's routes. Got caught up in rereading the dialogue, man... great stuff dude.

Yup, that's working as intended! If you're on the friend + fear route, then you basically told Gabby that you'd let her off the hook without any expectation of a sexual relationship, provided she let the past be the past. So, she's walking on eggshells, and Guy's using the situation to coerce her into respecting him. But, there's not a sexual dimension to that relationship. But, that version of Gabby may be useful in other ways.

And thanks for the heads-up on the typo! It's fixed, now. Feel better, man!

Nah, Friends Indeed always updates at the same time as Friends in Need.. I don't know what's going on with it, as I don't mess with the OP. I've said it before, but there's really no reason to upload Friends Indeed here. If you want to play a vanilla version of Friends in Need, then just don't unlock that content in FiN. Friends Indeed only has certain code/images stripped out, to make a Patreon-compliant version of the story.

(There's also some stuff in the Lucien content which has been altered to focus more on the horror/drama, and make those scenes less titillating.)

Will how Cassie acts depend on what sort of character our version of Guy is I wonder? Like will she be nice if we are, but if we are mean she is mean?

I'm looking forward to chapter one remake but more so chapter eleven specifically for Cass.

I wondered the same thing about the MC's mother, actually, when we encounter her probably far in the future. But you know, if Neon was planning to do something like change a character's personality depending on the MC's personality, it'd probably make more sense for Cassie. Much bigger workload, though, I'd imagine. Interesting to think about!

Note that if you are on her friend route but she is not afraid then this whole sequence is skipped altogether:

_home 2 is for friend/love paths, and it has none of the alley stuff.

So Guy on the friends/neutral path won't be doing sexual things, no matter if Gabby is scared of him or not.

First it was seeing Nicki return, then being able to tell Britt to just be herself and so on. Man, those are the kind of moments I love in these games.

I look up to Neon so much guys. Dude busts his arse to bring us a game that will live in my mind long after the credits roll.
