Well, kill me... I never gave this game a chance before and... wow!
I don't think I've ever seen an AVN in which you can choose how to deal or even re-shape the other characters at such depth. I also like the fact that, once a choice is made, the game doesn't railroad you till the end. You can bail out of a relationship later or commit to one without going all in from the beginning.
I've got to the point of the first meeting with Mason and I've tried all the different routes, or so I think... I counted 5. It wouldn't surprise me if we'll be able to influence its sexuality/gender in addition to the usual friend/lover/sub scenario.
I don't get all the hate for Nick... Even if the first part of the story is "forced" onto the player, it merely exists to flesh out the MC background. I don't see people complaining that the MC's parents are almost always dead or absent!
I mean, the MC doesn't exist in a vacuum. What part of its former life is displayed via flashbacks or intro, it's up to the author.
Speaking about Nick, I do hope it will be possible to convince her to remove her tattoos or go back to her natural hair colour. Those tattoos are a memento of a bad time in her life, so it kind of make sense that getting rid of them could be a sort of closure.
PS: another game on my "to support" list...

It is definitely one of the best games going. Don't worry about Nicki, Neon is currently re-working Chapter 1 (out in March I think) and the sex with Nicki will be optional. As for the Tats & hair, personally I'll leave it to her. If she wants to change, I'd pay for it, if she wants to keep it all - that's up to her. I get what you're saying but it seems to me like Nicki has had a lot of people telling her what to do with her body. It should be her choice. (IMO)I don't get all the hate for Nick... I had noticed that, as someone who wasn't romancing him (not being into guys). I read it as him not really understanding the idea of someone just doing something nice for him for no reason, which made it that much more fun to keep saying no. Sorry, Mason! You're just going to have to accept that a person can be nice to you without wanting anything in return.
has the nikki remaster of chapter 1 happen yet? i want to do a replay but waiting around until that's completed

Chapter 10 came out in the final days of November (and the final build in early December). I took December off. So, it’s been less than two months of actually working on the remake.

I firmly believe that the revamped chapter one is going to be worth playing. Now, when I hear about the revamped chapter two that is when I will begin unleashing all the whining I have stored up.
I think there is a right way and a wrong way to do it, that is when it needs doing. Probably the worst way is the dev of WVM, who retroactively changed the story, hasn't bothered to change the early chapters, and just has the current chapters have the characters act as if the scenes we haven't seen happened anyway. Leaving the reader in a constant state of confusion and bewilderment. It would be like if Neon decided that Guy and Brent had a fistfight at the store after finding out about the crypto windfall and everybody mentions it in passing while we are left scratching our heads, looking at the first chapter that hasn't changed.

The wrong time is not 3 years after first release knowing you will break everyones saves and force everyone to restart....but keeping pushing new content...

I sympathize with you about the broken saves, but it bothers me more in some games than in others. If they are worth replaying then it isn't an issue. If they are a Renpy VN that has a robust skip function, also not an issue. When it is an RPGM game that involves treasure finding or a sandbox that requires sleeping then I will take that resentment to the grave.

For me, the goal of this game should be that 10 years from now A) It's a game you want to replay and B) It's still satisfying as a game and a story when you do. This goes for all games (unless the Dev is really pushing it and fucking around - like 6 months between updates and they add one new scene). I'd hate to be replaying this someday and go "oh yeah, this part is kind of weird and rushed because people couldn't wait an extra few weeks for the update back in 2025. And I think that's what Neon is going for - something he can be proud of years from now. I don't have any problem with reworking stuff, especially from early in the game when the Dev really didn't know the characters/story that well and their skills weren't as strong as they are now. There are several games where I wish the Dev *would* go back and rework stuff, that's not up to par or where the story took an obvious bad turn.

Each girl has her own path, so you can be nice for some and not nice for others. Although if one girl sees how you're interacting with another, it can impact her opinion of Guy.

As far as I know you can choose different paths for each girl but the game doesn’t rely on porn logic much which means there will come a point when the lis see how you’re treating the others and will have views.
