seems like the dev is just trying to avoid the 1 year no update by releasing all these small updates and minisodes whit 100 renders

Rework hell is rework hell, no matter when/if it was announced.
Its only a good idea in like 1/20 cases, we will see if this avn belongs to the rare breed.
Imo the rework was not needed here at all. Does he intend to rework more chapters?

you misunderstood me. I paid for the new update, that's why I said you should wait for it. It's not public yet. When it leaks here you should def play it.

Only chapter 1 was supposed to have a remake because it was not Neon who created it(if I remember correctly)

if the coding takes 10x less time than the renders why wouldn't have chapter 12 for "literal years"

Because I love repeating myself: Chapter 1 was remade in its entirety -- I'd get into the reasons why, but let's just say it's because I wanted to personally hurt people's feelings that were looking forward to Chapter 11, and went through a lot of effort to do so.
The following chapters (2-10) needed to have some code and story beats updated, but I've tried to leave as much untouched as possible. While I'm going through the chapters line by line, I'm adding some renders here and there, and tweaking some dialogue. But we're talking about 100~ renders, for scenes I've already built, lit, etc. and 90% of it is in Chapters 2/3, with 20ish added to Ashe's date scene. As soon as that's done, I'll be re-releasing Chapters 1-10 as Season 1, and Chapter 11 will kick off Season 2.
Now, let's play Jump to Conclusions!

And the Blue Valentine mini-sode came out in February.. And the Chapter 11 teaser in March.. And now a full chapter in April.. Shit, I'm putting a lot of work into not working.
- Steam Demanded I Change the Content: Truueeeee! As you can see, Friends in Need is already on Steam, but they demanded I strip out any naughty content. So, I'm reworking it as a farming sim. The new title will be Friends with Seed. It still sounds dirty, but it isn't.

Well, and all is clear gentlemen and ladies, you have your answers, and if you do not like it, then i suggested to hover over X in the upper right corner of the screen and press it ;p
There is little to no new images and animations to render. The dev is just adjusting code of subsequent chapters to be uniform with changes to variables made in the remake of Ch.1.
He is also simultaneously working on the next chapter of the game, but of course can't expect people who'd rather scream their head off that the sky is falling, to know that much. Even if he's mentioned in the thread more than a few times.

Did the story change in remake or only renders? No need replay it right? I dont really care about renders if decent enough good enough for me.

ok, i feel relieved at least...and maybe i'm still an ass for suggesting this...but put a link to this on the front OP page. I looked for an explanation there and didn't find one...i thought you would have put it in the dev notes. i should have used the search function for re-work or maybe just your name...i'm not sure if that works...and maybe i would have found something, but i didnt. so here we are and i overreacted...like a lot of people. Im incredibly relieved to see that it's not a full rework. The only reason people get this pissed is irf something matters to them...so at least you know people love your game. Thanks Neonghosts. I've been an on/off again supporter. Haven't played the update yet, but I haven't felt strung along with updates yet.
