As far as I know chap 1 was the only really remastered part of the game. He has only added a few more scenes in the other chapters. I believe the last thing he said that he is going to be finishing up chapter 11 now and hoping he can get it out later this month.

The newest update with the reworked content is "complete" to chapter 7, so no reason to stop before the end of the update (as far as I can tell).
There's some transitional stuff to start chapter 2 and I guess some cleaned up artwork and minor changes to reflect the new chapter 1 in other parts as well. I suspect he stopped at 7 'cause there will be a few more minor tweaks in the last three chapters (or just chapter 8).

Yes, but you want to, because the new chapter 1 is vastly better than the old version, as is the new start to Chapter 2.
I liked this update a lot. Can't wait for the last couple of chapters to be added. The only thing that sucks is you can't grab both items from the medicine cabinet but outside of that I think everything added to this update was an improvement on what was in the game before and I can't wait for the next update.

so maybe i am wrong but we should have the option to rape viola in ass as i remember when we go the washroom before that scene when we meet gabby we have the option to take lube and even when he takes it he dosent use on viola
If you use U.R.M it gives you a pretty good guide on what choices to avoid and what choices to pick. Since the variables are named in a matter that's pretty easy to understand.

That's correct - the game looks for a file called "patch". That is the switch to enable dark content.

The one I have is NEARLY empty ... it has a single line telling the game that the qualifier "Taboo" is set to yes, but not really my thing so mine might be an old version that's not relevant anymore. It's still just an .rpy file called "patch" though.

I just created a blank notepad file, named it patch, give it the .rpy extension, tossed it in the game folder, and was good to go. I could have ignored all that and just used URM probably.

Da fuck. Just create file named patch.rpy in the game directory. That's all.
Game will check its existense and turn on the patch variable which enables dark content.
No need to download anything extra.

I'm wondering if we're eventually going to get trans women content. Mason is a trans man, I'm sorta hoping that the lawyer Lane is a trans woman.
In my playthroughs I have only ever seen females and Mason.
Maybe there's some additional trans content in the dark route?
Which I wouldn't know because the dark route is borderline Weinstein simulator and that's not really my thing.
Is there a reason this new version doesn't have the other chapters added in as well? I'm hoping we get some Cassie content soon

Yes, it has changed, as the one that was posted by NeonGhosts on his SS for the "public" post is now a "blank file" that is the activator. The old one was a patch =True. I'm guessing in the updated game version it just now looking for a blank file called "patch" instead of having a switch.
