First of all, I'm not an authority on what's going on in this game, I'm not a patron. I'm just going off of what I read on the public Patreon posts.
Second, I'm not sure what you mean by that question. I put the word "bad" in quotation marks because this route, I think, was described as such at some point. As in, from the story POV. Me personally, I enjoy it just as much as the Netori path.

I will always be disappointed by games like these that uses weird "paths" systems like this where outcomes are arbitrarily decided in advance for you. This game would be a million times better if it had a single "path" and you just decided for each individual futa/girl whether you're interested in them or not. You could even still implement a dominant/submissive aspect of choice to it, just don't make each "path" a completely distinct story with character that only appear in one or the other.

Partly it's going to be disappointment to about half the people every time because most everyone is much more interested in one path than the other and now waiting for updates sucks way more than even usual.

But even more, it's just the wasted development time and wasted characters that roughly half your player will never see because you decided to make the paths so exclusive. And creating interesting characters that are just wasted because they don't appear in the "path" a player wants to play.

Like the game would be so much better FOR ME, if I could make Natalie and Andrea etc etc my bitches in the Netori path as well. Another person prefers the game on the submissive Futa path but still don't want to miss out on characters from the Netori path and then the game would be better FOR THEM. Combining it all into one path just cuts down on dev time AND makes more players happy. Absolute win-win.

For a lot of people cancelling futa on futa would feel like canceling netori, it makes no sense at all. He literally said from DAY ONE that he will add FxF, and kept it separate from netori only to keep it free from fetishes. A lot of games have killed my faith too but this dev’s stayed the same since the start. No greedy pricing, consistently good updates, always polite, and listens if the feedback makes sense.

So yeah, I don’t really agree with you here. But if it helps, he did say futa on futa will end within week 1. That tells me he knows exactly what he wants from it and won't go further than he has to.

I meant the Dom/Sub route, which was not initially planned. That's taking an already split path and splitting it again. Why not split the Netori path as well? Maybe a Mindbreak/Seduction split, where the difference is using force to take what you want until they are hoplessly addicted to cock vs being charming and sly enough to win over the ladies voluntarily? I personally hope they don't add any more complexity, 3 unique full sized routes is already a significant amount of writing for one dev, completely ignoring the entire game dev side of things.

This is the scope creep I was talking about. Now the FutaXFuta path must by necessity take twice as long as the Netori path, as it is actually two paths. God help him if he splits the paths any further.

Have you thought about how much work one dev would have to do to make dom and sub paths for each character? Or even choosing LIs alone? That’s double the work and making the plot fit all the possibilities especially if they’re interacting with each other like in the last netori update.

Keeping them separate just makes it easier. It's a simple way to handle something so controversial, just put all the similar fetishes in one path (depravity path) and keep the main story clean. Tbh the way the game’s going, combining netori and futa on futa would make NO SENSE. Imagine Milly being around drugs and submissive sex with her senpais, then going back to play NTR with Hana and act like a Queen. It's weird and it adds nothing to the "WHAT IF MILLY WASN'T THERE" story. AND it would have to keep going on for AS LONG AS netori exists, or else here's another outrage the dev has to deal with because it's now tied with the netori path too. But the dev wants THIS PATH to end somewhere.

And if the dev fucks up the futa on futa path because it was a risk anyway, at least they won’t ruin the whole game. If it doesn’t pan out, they can just end it and move on with the game like it is. The main path remains totally unaffected. It’s a very smart move for a controversial story.
