Wtf is with the second text screen that pops up and stays open? It looks like a windows cmd screen.

That would be the BepinEX plugin, that is what is translating your game, and uncensoring it. (it may also be bugging out if you download the 1.05 and not the 1.05.1 version of the game.)
If you are wondering abt the safety, just know that Lethal Company and Risk of Rain 2 run all of their mods thru BepinEX. If thousands of people are going to add fart noises to their scary game, i'd say that its safe enough.

Maybe I got lucky, but if you're still having issues, I'd recommend giving that a shot. Maybe BepinEX is messing with the game as it's trying to create and update the tasks?
I downloaded the 1.05 version from this post first, as it had the uncensor and translation mods. I then downloaded the 1.05.1 version and completed the tutorial, confirmed tasks were being checked off in the 'Stats' screen, and saved the game. After that, I closed it out and transferred over the BepinEX and other files that version 1.05.1 was missing. I started the game up again and my save was able to continue checking off tasks and rank up.

I couldn't figure out how to take these two types of pictures myself either. I ended up "buying" the soft one from the market where you can upload, because I couldn't get it to pop in my searches either. You can use downloaded ones for the upload task.
sorry for the late answer, it seems that you do need to make a new save, even if you play without beepx (japanese) you cant use the old save because the code wasn't made with that bug in mind, meaning that it doesn't recheck the values
but seems like just opening it as admin and making a new game makes it works and yeah, I meant no red errors on starting the game, after that it does keep giving red errors here and there but seems to be working just fine, got 3 rank ups before closing the game for today

Can we please update the thread with the files from here? Download from these links take way too long with the limitations imposed.
ive transfered the missing files from 1.05 to 1.05.1 but the game just fails to boot up.

You need to search for it or buy it from uploader. It's weird since you can't take pictures when you are having sex

Did you give the game enough time to boot up? Mine took a while but it worked and I went through the tutorial and nothing's wrong so far.
You also need to delete the whole folder in Appdata for saves, so its clean or u will be stuck
it shows the black BeplnEx for around a second or two and it closes along with the application.

aside from that, the guy at page 3 recomended more files to be copied over which didnt work for me either as ive said prior...
Its work for me:
1) Download version in main page, its 1.05
2) Download version 1.05.1
3) Copy Bepinx files from 1.05 to 1.05.1 version - its english and uncensor
4) Run with admin 1.05.1 version
5) start new game with tutorial - need to play with tutorial
Bepinx files is - catalog (BepInEx, dotnet) and files (.doorstop_version, doorstop_config.ini, winhttp.dll)
Full save - \Users\Username\AppData\LocalLow\Studio Tris
Game have potential... But we have - Sealed Room Breed 2 and SoldGirl Town...
