Games that got worldbuilding

After gooning so much, I've realized I liked stories that are more coherent than just "this appeared, and then sex". Any recommendations?

Edit: I specifically meant stories with background settings, geopolitics, something believable (not realism, just believable even with suspended belief)

Rance series: Good world building that extends over 10 different games, a lot of war, conflict and in some games extreme tragedies.

Kamidori alchemy meister: Chill game, really fun to play and the story is more than ok.

If you are not afraid of RPGM games, I would recommend Ideology in Friction, Fall in Labyrinth, or Demon Roots.

You could try out Night of Revenge as well. It is a platformer style game and doesn't have a super deep, rich, story, but it was pretty good ... and the porn was kinda kinky.

I'd recommend City of Broken Dreamers, honestly the best 3DCG visual novel I've seen so far.

Utawarerumono really stands out among the older games. It's a hybrid VN/turn-based strategy game, and the story and setting are frankly amazing. There's several sequels, though only the original game has sexual content.

Fate/Stay Night is another obvious one. This is where the Fate series started, and it's worth checking out even if you don't really care for the rest of the Fate series.

Two 90s titles probably worth checking out are YU-NO and Divi Dead. In both titles, you have to do your own detective work to unravel an overarching mystery.

Speaking of mystery; YOU and ME and HER is... not the sappy highschool romance VN that it initially seems.

And as far as RPG Maker games go: anything by Leaf Geometry is guaranteed to have a ton of worldbuilding. The SEQUEL series and ASYLUM are set in the same universe. If you don't feel like doing the SEQUEL series (four games, each of them huuuuge), then just try ASYLUM. That one, especially, is atmospheric and trippy. Especially if you're going in blind.

EDIT: how could I forget? Check Black Souls and Black Souls II. The visuals are rough around the edges, but the gameplay and writing are simply sublime. Especially in Black Souls II.

Also try The Heart of Darkness, which is a pretty solid Black Souls clone with much better visuals.

You may be interested in the first image in my sig. Just make sure to use the walkthrough and stay on the 'dom' path...(if the complete opposite path is not to your taste..no kink-shaming). One of the best story VN's around.

Worldbuilding is what Tolkein did in his Lord of the Rings books. Being a Dik takes place in what's meant to be real life, specifcally in a college.

I've played BaD (funny how the game abreviates to that, isn't it?) and it's really overhyped. It just doesn't go anywhere. I played for a good 5 hours total, nothing. Just quick time events, search puzzles, and well, there's not even a third thing to list. In fact, I'd reccomend you just steer clear of Ren'py as a whole.

I second this.

Ill admit i havent played much of season 2 or 3 (or 4 if it exists yet?) but season 1 did get me quite hooked, i obviously got the game to fap but left will plenty of shocks and suspense. Wasnt a fan of season 2's "DIY frat manager" so thats why i likely took a break and using a guide, i may jump on it again who knows

i will go with my precious list

dramon quest biggest game i played so far, dragon quest but with sex
false myth kinda weird at first but fun to play and understand it
naedoko demons ground loli + breeding + a really good ambient of breed pokemon masters ](if you play it you will understand)
demon roots really good world building, countries in wars, you play as demons trying to survive interesting story
superhuman lots of weird shit indeed, but amazing writing and world builiding around the mc
once ever after now this was a master piece in terms of creativity around the originals kids stories. It could have gotten bigger and bigger and bigger and made whole series of it but my guess is dev feared it could get out of hands really fast (+ulfina best girl)

I played it a long time ago, but I was really trying to figure out why everyone has this game in their signature.

To be honest, I'm not really a fan of Slice of Life media, so it going nowhere isn't really a flaw but just kind of how the genre is. It's just that you usually don't see SoL types at the top of anything.

I enjoyed it because it was like american pie movies, but after you are join into DIK it got worse each episode and somehow you don't know where story goes or what is a point.
And yes. BAD don't have worldbuilding.
