Yeah kinda. There are arrows directing you where to go for each story route. However, you can go wherever and sometimes you can skip some of the story by accident. It also doesn't help that the game requires a lot of grinding for some story routes. Is the progression structure a hot mess like with their other game?
So, the first two routes on fairly high difficulties are balanced around a new game, though higher difficulties that increases karma that you need to find special items to unlock are probably going to be a bit too hard.I just started the game but have a question about the NG+ structure:
I've read that you can keep the levels and items and what not to make the other routes faster.
What if I don't want that?
I prefer playing each route with the intended challenge, instead of steamrolling everything.
Will that be possible after clearing a route or do I need to start each run completely fresh?
EDIT: As a bonus question, are the difficulties balances around a new game?
Like, if I use a higher difficulty (even if it just increases the damage of the enemies), is the game still balanced around it?
Or like 'Dynasty Warriors' where choosing the highest difficulty right at the start won't let you win a single fight, let alone defeat a single enemy?
The three variations of the first 2 routes? So, the first two routes on fairly high difficulties are balanced around a new game, though higher difficulties that increases karma that you need to find special items to unlock are probably going to be a bit too hard.
The thing is that on ng+ each route change and gets harder, so keeping stuff doesn't make things just a steamroll.
The third route is supposed to only happen once you have already done a game (so ng+) and preferably only done once you are on ng+7 having done the three variations of the first two routes.
Difficulty wise, the second route is the easiest/lowest level of enemies, as I think it's the only route where the basic ass boss is not at least 9999?
Ng+ have 2 choices. Continue game or proper NG+ with items (except quest items, witch talisman and bell) and everything. You need to do NG+ if want all endings, but if want to complete game, can use continue. And there is one ending where you can chose only NG+.I just started the game but have a question about the NG+ structure:

Well, it's nice that the game offers such a variety, even after beating it.Ng+ have 2 choices. Continue game or proper NG+ with items (except quest items, witch talisman and bell) and everything. Routes make in progressive difficult, how strange it sound, everytime when you go to some point in story, you companions say "this enemy too strong, go to my root to became stronger" (you of course can not go, you lose nothing). First area of demon and cult same+- difficulty. Recommend go to right root after you get Lorina to take Sheryl, than go where you want.
Possible, first root that I clear was wriggle root(hardest).
Difficulty, increase all enemy stats by certain multiplier. This includes experience, gold and drop chance. So take x4 difficulty than you find item for x8 difficulty, on x8 all(?) drop chances became 100%. Then there x16,x30,x128... if you want.
Define "harder", this game relatively easy for me, if understand game and have good memory(in end you have big amount of skills) game easy till endgame. Plus difficulty in this game fluid, you can make x4 or with special items x30, giant difference.Well, it's nice that the game offers such a variety, even after beating it.
I remember some 'SaGa' games get easier with each new char you pick, since the game won't get harder but you get some buffs to clear the game faster/easier.
But now is my actually new and real question:
Does this game get harder?
Ok, I'm still somewhat at the beginning, but I was level 8 or so when being told "We should come back after reaching level 30.".
Well, turned out, my 800 DEF buff item and whatever I pumped into my chars was enough to overcome such a fight (Wrestler?) with ease.
I'm actually afraid that I have to limit myself, like I needed to do with 'Black Souls 2', cause this game was also easily broken when it comes to upgrading weapons and using stat-boosting items.
EDIT: People say that this game is grindy... but really?
Every time I fight I get showered with stat-boosting items or weapon-boosting items.
Do enemies at some point make up for the large amounts of perma-boosts?
Re: weapon forging, I wouldn't use the first few weapon forging on the good weapons. Your starting sword is arguably the strongest weapon in the game and you only get a spare in ng+3 and further (one per ng+ at that point), so don't ruin it by taking it to 100 with trash tier forging.EDIT: People say that this game is grindy... but really?

#Yuri4everI must say, after 20 hours, the game got a good laugh out of me.
There is so much crazy stuff, from lesbian stuff that basically always results in futa content, to zombification and corruption with all sorts of cursed fluids, over humans turned into some eldritch monsters, things with 12 titts and 24 balls, spit-drinkin, sweat-sniffing, snot-dripping, nose-slurping... the list goes on.
But as soon as a yaoi scene might pop up, this is where the game draws the line with a big warning.
Like "ARE YOU SURE YOU ARE FUCKING GAY?!? WE DON'T WANNA ALIENATE YOU!!!".
I think you chose a customisation button that didn't show the changed character in battle.does this game get deeper in its breadth of customisation or is it just surface level things? Because so far (I haven’t beaten any path, but I’m not talking about endgame content) I’m quite disappointed. You can have the weirdest combo, have your personality changed etc and all it amounts to is to some random flavour text and your look. But it’s terribly inconsistent in everything, when you speak with other characters you revert to your normal self… and even in battles they never use the “customisation” but the stock sprite.
Does it get better or is that just it?
Game chose diversity of events over integrating them with game world. So you easy can have events that "kill" your characters and it not effecting gameplay.does this game get deeper in its breadth of customisation or is it just surface level things? Change you settings, it must show by default.and even in battles they never use the “customisation” but the stock sprite.
