Oh, that reminds me, I did unlock the two variations at the moment but I wasn't certain what they were supposed to do

Does Appease make patient's endurance bar go down faster than if you choose Calm Down?

Yes, but this will actually change with the introduction of the "Skill Menu". Sorry about that D:

But if you're wondering, the effectiveness of actions is indicated with the skill icon's borders. It's not obvious enough though and this concept is going to be reintroduced later. For now, I'll just leave it in there as a pleasant surprise for some folks but it is going to undergo a slight shuffle when class progression has been implemented.

I see, thankies for the info! Also, no need to apologize about changes being made, this is a tech demo.. just a glimpse at what we can expect from the game, changes are bound to happen hehe

Very interesting stuff though :D

Thanks man :) Yes, please continue to just see this as a tech demo. I'll be honest, I'm figuring out a lot of things on the fly especially because this is my first game.

Really appreciate the feedback and please know that your feedback is not falling of deaf ears!

I am confirming that no game with this engine works for me. How do I go about alleviating this problem? I have added the extracted folder to my anti-virus.

start a thread in https://f95zone.to/forums/general-troubleshooting.16/
list what happens (if nothing, explain the nothing - no error messages, never showing up in task manager, etc.),
if you've tried any troubleshooting like checking your antivirus, if it works in the browser version, moving it to a different download location / folder ( d:\test\thisgame for example),
if you've done anything unusual with your operating system (like running on old drivers or removing unwanted microsoft programs and features - e.g. microsoft edge that this engine's windows builds apparently attempt to use)
search the internet and engine's forums (or game threads here or on steam for games sharing the engine) for cases of somebody else having the same problem. ask chatgpt.

Thanks whowhawhy for coming up with some troubleshooting steps. Sorry, Sorter you're still having these issues... I can try to look into this but it may be difficult without being able to recreate the issue myself

It works alright here, but, honestly, what kind of engine even is this? Apparently it's called "Constructor" judging by info on itch.io. Never heard of it. Wish devs would just stick to the tried and tested. Godot is enough of a mess.

It is called Construct 3. This is my first game so when I was choosing game engines I literally went by descriptions and docs. I was actually planning on moving over to godot but if anyone has any recommendations of engines and the benefits of using them, please let me know! :D

Quick question are you planing to implement other buildings/areas othere then home and work and if you do will there be ''sex encounters'' in them or it's strictly lab only?

That depends on what you want to do and how much programming you know. GDevelop would be the closest to Construct3 - both are web first and offer visual scripting.

If you can code, the engine will most likely depend on which language you're more familiar with. Godot will work well and its GScript language is very similar to Python. Lua has LOVE2D, Go has ebitengine, Javascript has a dozen engines like Phaser, PixiJS, ImpactJS, MelonJS. All of these I'm mentioning are FOSS

Sorry, if that's silly question, but why do you need an engine at all? For turn-based game without physics.

Hehe... There will definitely be different areas where Claire will have all sorts of interactions... The only thing I'll say is that if you notice on the Town Map there is kind of like a slum area and the current clinic room isn't the only area within the clinic either..

I just didn't want to build out everything from scratch (buttons, movement, interactions, etc ). Plus, I would also like to use plug-ins or take advantage of community support from whatever engine I decide to use.

I really should have just went with Godot. It was a choice between construct 3 and godot initially and I thought in the end construct 3 would require far less overhead so that I can focus on story, concepts, art, and gameplay mechanics.

try id tech like part 4, the last of the free :Kappa:
ones, well, it's just as a joke, well, I just found out recently that it turns out the DOOM 3 engine is free

but I repeat, this is more of a joke than a tip, it is very unlikely that this will suit your game.

I see. It feels like such game would take less than 20000 lines of code in C++, machine code is non-trivial to hack, less overhead too.

Well... Let's see. I spent the majority of the time developing reusable systems.

Currently, as someone had already pointed out, this is more a tech demo and I am not using the systems I have built to their full capacity.

I really didn't expect people to take interest in the game so quickly and thought I would have a lot more time to develop and release updates.

At this point, I am just trying to race to the finish line as fast as possible xD
