As most of you might have noticed, I have been inactive in terms of updates and announcements on Discord since July 2024 and some people are clearly wondering if I abandoned the game or not in the general chat so I'm here to explain myself about that and tell you how I plan to move forward.
First of all, I would like to apologize for the insane amount of time that passed without any proper news (7 months as of now) for Genesis, it's clearly way too long and I can understand the frustration from people who have been waiting eagerly all this time for any kind of information but I've started working on another project that is unrelated to AVN's last year and it's been taking most of my spare time so I haven't been able to work too much on Genesis.
Secondly, I decided to unpublish my Patreon page a few days ago which in turn froze the current subscriptions (which means you won't have a monthly fee to pay anymore for the @Patrons) and it will also not allow anyone to subscribe or see the page until I publish it again because as much as I tried to still push through the update, I can clearly see that it's not going the way it should and to be honest, it leads to the next topic I'm going to talk about.
I have to face it and accept it: Making a game is very time consuming and I unfortunately clearly lost my motivation to work on Genesis for many reasons (Lack of time, Project is too much for a solo dev, too many limitations to what I want to convey, not enough support compared to the time I poured into work...) and because of that, I've decided to put the game on an indefinite hiatus for now since I've got to focus on other projects that I'm working on right now and to be transparent, I would like to explore other ideas that I have for games that are not as complex and demanding as Genesis but still very interesting for me to work on.
That's why, I plan to release another game project later this year that I had in mind for a while that will be less time consuming in terms of work since it will be smaller in terms of world building/lore and more in tune with what a Visual Novel should be. I also now have years of experience in the Adult Visual Novel environment as I learned what to do and what not to do if I want to avoid issues when working on a game so with that in mind, I'll make sure to have a proper finished script from start to finish in terms of what I want to do for the game like the story (that I already started to work on and I'm sure you'll definitely like it if you liked Genesis), the characters (that I already have a rough draft of and that will be less than Genesis in terms of numbers so it will allow me to develop them further and have a proper relationship system with them with diverse personalities) or the environment where the story will unfold (once again, it will be in a way smaller scale that will allow me to not spend too much time on it).
I have plenty of information that I will reveal in due time concerning that new game but for now, I'm only going to thank everyone who has been following my journey with Genesis and all the people who supported me on Patreon so far, I can't wait to tell you more about that new project soon
Thank you for those who read me and as always, stay tuned for more informations!
