But we are not even discussing the visuals, we are discussing the storytelling: that includes the writing, the plot, the setting, the characterization and worldbuilding. GG only outright fails at one of those and while it's worth criticizing the lack of proofreading, criticizing the writing itself seems like a reach. I'm not expecting much out of an amateurish fetish novel written by an ESL person, and I'm certainly not for jeopordizing the project's rigor over a measly improvement in writing through exorbitant commissions.Y'all. It's a VN. A visual novel. Writing is a selling point, just as much as visuals.
As someone with a TEFL certificate that used to work with ESL students regularly, there absolutely are limits to how well the majority of ESL people can improve at English as it requires putting in over a hundred hours of work outside the classroom.I'm absolutely certain the writing could, and should, be improved. That said, I don't agree with the idea that ESL speakers are incapable of reaching a decent level of quality. That’s just wrong and a bit patronizing.
Ask yourself this question: why aren't you learning another language right now? There is nothing but perks in it for you, so if it's as simple as you describe it, why not work on improving yourself? I’m sure you have your reasons. Maybe time, motivation, other responsibilities? Those same reasons apply to pretty much everyone including the dev here.
