There is a developer menu for stats for testing. He can implement that as cheat menu if there is demand. Ask the Tale Master Zian (y)

Yeahhh. it would be pretty easy to implement. I have a developer scrren for me but its very basic. after adding all the settings, there would be an option for difficulties. with a specific chosen difficulty you can open cheat menu

One issue to note, I'm putting all my points into charisma to get a taunt victory in the fights. My opponents appear to not know how to handle that and begin to run away. There may need to be a max distance set to prevent immersive breaking distances being created by them running. It's weird for them to run 100ft away while I shout at them.

I'm interested in the premise, but after several minutes with the game, I'm puzzled with the font choice. The menu font evokes Greek feel rather than Roman with these triangular E's, and the text box font is more like Renaissance. IDK if anybody except me cares though...

Update: After about an hour of playing, I gave up. The writing is not quite there, but I would have soldiered through. Alas, the flavor is just off. Names are very strange. Nivea? Carina? Liana? My suspension of disbelief just fails to start doing its job. Some ChatGPT-based research on names would go a long way. Hell, I, as a player, started with asking ChatGPT with a list of names suggestions which are appropriate for the MC! Diabetus Obescus — well, that's hilarious, but it should be Obesus not Obescus, I never studied Latin and still know that. But the final straw was tea. Carina brewing tea for the MC, what, is it partying like it's 1600s? A quick, 2-minute research shows they would usually drink wine, but Carina, being poor, would probably only drink posca "a popular drink among ancient Roman soldiers and poor peasants. It was usually made by watering down low quality wine and then adding spices to make it taste better. " Was it customary to offer posca to a guest as we would offer tea? I don't know, maybe not. But not tea, please, it's anachronistic.

Come on, I'm not a Rome nerd, but some basic research is needed in every story, and in our day and age, basically every question can be answered with a quick ChatGPT check. That's more than enough.

I recently played a sci-fi game (also from f95) which was the opposite: it had such depth in its lore that I had to Google things and learn about them, like names of types of weapons, and I'm a bit of a sci-fi fan. And it was a fictional lore, no one would bat an eyebrow if a new category or two of weapons were invented by the author.

I'm ranting because I think this game has a lot of potential. The fight system seems interesting. The drawing style is actually pretty. The three paths are also something I want to play through and reach the point when they begin to affect gameplay. It's an early enough phase in the development to make these oversights right and make this a great game. So I really hope the dev will be able to use it as feedback. Good luck and cheers!

Nobody .. after Gladiator 2 .. where not even Denzel or Ridley were bothered with any autenticity, why should a game with skimpy outfits bother any better?
anybody except me cares though...
We got AI cg, 2dcg and the premise is years in dungeons and a melting plot of history and fa ntasy and civilisations as a place where thsi game takes place. As all sorts of people and cultures clash literally in the corridors and in the arena, your panties in a twist grievance is laughable.
Oxford Dictionary uses Tea to mean infusion of flowers or flowers, not just the titular plant:
a drink made by pouring hot water onto dried and cut leaves and sometimes flowers, especially the leaves of the tea plant
Was it customary to offer posca to a guest as we would offer tea? I don't know, maybe not. But not tea, please, it's anachronistic.
Also, popular shows like Rome had pubs and served tea = as a way to ingratiate the viewers to taverns and drinks being served within ancient time. Herbal concoctions are a trope of barbarian tribes during Rome times in modern media - just look at magik potion for the Gaulls of Asterix and Obelix. This is today fantasy with the tropey cartoony ways to portray it.

You are absolutely right. During my time in the military, I’m planning to research daily life of ancient rome — their daily routines, what they owned, what they wore, what they ate, their culture, and everything related to it. (I’ll probably have plenty of free time anyway.)

Why don't use yellow text will be better to see?
why not, i will change it (or i can add a minor color setting in preferences)

Any more body/color options for the male protagonist?
non right now. But with a little tweak to live2d with additional color layer i think that feature can be arranged.

Hey everyone,

First of all, thank you — truly.
And I want to start by saying… I’m sorry for releasing the game in such an unfinished state.

After the first update, I promised to deliver the second one within a month. But as development went on, things took longer than I ever expected. We spent a lot of time trying to shape the direction of the story and finalize the plans.
Just when we finally felt ready to move forward — when we thought “Alright, now we can finish this properly”tink!

A message appeared.

It was a draft notice.
I was being called to the army.

Five days. That’s all the time I had before I had to leave. It hit me so suddenly that it honestly crushed my morale. I hadn’t even finished the second update yet…

But then, out of sheer stubbornness and passion, we pushed through. We gave everything we could in those last five days. I know there are still problems — rough edges, unfinished parts — but there are also moments I’m genuinely proud of.
At the very least, we tried to deliver something with heart.

Tomorrow, I leave.
Before I go, I wanted to tell you all this directly, and ask for your understanding.

If I couldn’t meet your expectations —
If I came across as someone rushing things just to make money —
Then please, forgive me. That was never my intention.

Once I’m in the army, I’ll try to take plenty of photos to share with you guys later.
I just hope I can get back to my PC soon and continue development where I left off.

To everyone who played the game — whether you liked it, disliked it, saw it, ignored it — and to the whole F95 community who made it possible for me to bring this project to life…
Thank you, truly, from the bottom of my heart.

Starting tomorrow, I might not be able to respond to your messages for a while. In my absence, my friend @WorkInSolitude will do his best to answer your questions.

Until we meet again, in the next update…
With love,
Tale Master Zian
