Then complain "See, this game died, these Patreon supporters man, they're so stupid". Bro. Patreon supporters are the ones who make this game possible. You, on the other hand, are killing it. Can you at least have the decency to not encourage others to pirate. If you can't stand the fact that someone makes 500$/month for having delivered an actually playable game, because yeah it seems you missed it but there's actually a game that you can download in the main post, currently has 230 ratings on itch, then go do something actually productive and make your own game. Dev lives in Russia, probably got a real job and only works on it 1 day per week as a hobby, that's why it's slow.
Yeah, I'm gonna have to go with the callout here. If the dev really cared about finishing the game, then he would have done something long ago. A message on Patreon, some life on the discord, literally anything at all that this is still in development. It's the least amount of effort to prove there's still life left to give. But with radio silence for almost a year now shows more about Patreonitis is in effect than any actual care.

And let me tell you that the patreons are not solely responsible for the life of a backed game. It is also the trust creators must prove to backers as well. If Rolanda has shown that he is willing to vanish without any confirmation of his game, showing any effort put in development, or even the status his very well being without some vague proxy on discord in his stead, AND still getting paid for practically doing nothing. Then why would I━ Or anyone else with some forethought, give him my trust and funds now to support his game? I would be a fool to do that, and anyone who thinks this is ok to throw money at nothing is huffing copium.

We can't kill the game anymore then what Rolanda is doing right now, all we have now is a dead horse to beat. Now if he were to come back and do something, well it will be better than nothing. I want this game supported, but throwing money at him isn't going to work. take it away and I bet you he'll come out of his hidey-hole once the free income dries up.

Making the claim that not throwing money at a game with an inactive developer is killing it is absolutely nuts
You never gave a penny to the dev, even when they were active.

And that's not even my point. Nobody asks you to pay. The game is free on itch.io.

The only thing that is asked is for you to mind your business and leave consensual adults decide what to do with their money.

All you've been doing in this thread has been to ask for pirated versions, dissuade others from supporting its development, call out the dev for not keeping promises they never claimed to make, and now you act like "I told you" as if that was some sort of proud accomplishment. Pirating is fine, but you act like a literal parasite.

Probably because developer is a lazy ass lost motivation and interest in developing the game. And it's hardly because he's underpaid on Patreon and Itch. io. I don't believe for a second that developer made detailed scenes with an anthropomorphic goat, slimes and wolves just for the money.
It's not for the money but it sure kills your motivation when you realize you can't even pay rent with it. People here act like 1000$/month is a lot, when after taxes, there'll remain less than half of it in your pocket. Meanwhile, the job market begs you to fill any normal dev position and would easily pay you 3-4x more. Then come other annoyances like having your bank account randomly shut down. Pirates are just the icing on the cake.

In my humble opinion, one should never be reliant on a patreon income that is not enough to live on. If it's not enough it should always be a "bonus" rather than the main source of income to pay rent with. Which obviously comes at a cost of free time for development, but yk, better than not being able to pay any bills.

I'm sure we all want the dev/game to succeed. I can understand lack of motivation, but no communcation to the people who support you is just not cool, Lack of motivation or whatever reason is something that should ideally be disclosed to patrons, which in the discord are even getting restless.

Dunno just my 2 cents, in an ideal world the dev will come back but who knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I say let this topic rest since it's not like this will solve the problem anyway lol

You're saying all this like im some sorta "great villain" that hates the poor or something, my brother in christ all I've done is mention the fact that the dev is gone for 10 months and still getting paid is that really that hard of a concept to grasp, also as for the promises you mentioned he never made there is the 2025 road map that he posted that never came to be so there is that
