Maybe try moving its directory folder to Desktop or to C: and starting it there? This is one of those Unity games that starts to act weird if its too many folders deep or if the directory has specific characters in it. I couldn't get it to work either until I moved it.
Having the same issue here- open, 10 frames of the load screen, crash. Ironically enough I wasn't having this issue with the JP version of the game.

Just tried downloading from Pixeldrain and checking Virus Total/WDefender. VT gave me back the same result as yours; WDefender flagged it as malicious.
I'd still say it's not worth the risk when both flag it, even if it is a false positive I'd rather pay the $14 it costs on Steam than take that risk, better $14 to ensure my safety than $500 to replace my computer or $250 to get it repaired you get what I mean lol.
