His updates were constant and good quality overall, the only game-breaking bug was the one with the slime quest.I heard this change comes because the next part requires more time to finish content since we are in the "build your own army" part of the story.
The quality was good but it was hard to make much progress on larger updates beyond adding a couple scenes and some story bits here and there. I think the dev has pretty big plans and wants to not be under the gun for a new update every month so he actually has room to realize those plans. The battle system took a year I think when it probably could have been a 3 month project if not for all the other work that has to be done for monthly updates.

To be clear I thought the updates were good quality but switching to a slower cadence in order to be more ambitious makes perfect sense

Quick question, I am trying to catch fish and I am only getting rank D, is any place or mod to get rank E fish?

The lake has a default 50% chance of getting a Rank E fish (30% D, 20% C). The river (outside Sakura Town) is for higher tier fish (C, B, or A), but I'm guessing you're at the lake. Beyond that, it's random.

If you're stuck, and have enabled the console (using unren or whatever):

I haven't had an issue using that kind of stuff to skip grinding on subsequent runs (I used it when the save bug happened). Worth noting that you won't get lumberjack or fishing experience if you skip cutting wood or fishing, but if it's because you're getting unlucky fishing then obviously that's not a huge concern.

Dude I love this game and all but let's not all be delusional here, and just call it what it is - development has slowed way the fuck down. No he didn't use to crank out tiny shitty updates. They were good, frequent updates. He is simply making excuses and spending less time on the game.

We have seen this a billion times before, any time a game a game gets pretty popular and successful, the dev reaches a point where they realize they can bust their ass and crank out content fast, or slow down a bit and... still make about the same money. Because Patreon subscribers will generally take the abuse and keep paying.

If the story keeps advancing, I can deal with it... begrudgingly... lol. But if this turns into the classic shit show where they just start adding a bunch of weird/fat/masculine/niche LIs to try to appeal to every fetish that exists, and adding meaningless side bullshit without really advancing the story, I am fucking out of here.

The official story is that we're past the the first wave of heroines and starting with the build your own kingdom part, so I can understand if he wants to focus on creating the systems required for that though the last update was somewhat disappointing I still hope he's not lying.

Unfortunately that's not really happening. It's been years since Ryoko's backstory update and I'm still waiting for her mom to appear and I know she will appear otherwise the neck think wouldn't be there around her neck now.

Dev is just adding side stories and I don't remember when was the last time the main story progressed.

Yeah I was trying to give ...some... grace because I love(d) this game, but it really does kinda look like this is the start of the "how long can I milk this puppy because milking it is easier than finishing the game" phase.

It sucks and I hope that's not what it is, but there are a few red flags already.

I agree we shouldn't be delusional: there has only been one update on the new cadence and it was significantly larger than the two before it. Before that was a massive new system thrown on top of an engine that is only barely designed to handle it. Stay calm, everything's fine

I get it there are a lot of grifters out there but up to this point there haven't been any real red flags. There is just a real ass human on the other side of this trying to make a game and as long as they are communicating and delivering relatively on schedule its nbd

The other alternative would be having the world feel empty, or people complaining that they can't go after the person they want.

I don't mind 2-3 months if it means the story and systems make more sense. Some of the lighter updates were clearly light on to allow for either reworks or internal system upgrades. Other updates, which people complained were light, required making new areas. I believe part of the slowdown is adding new areas. People still want content, so fleshing out existing characters and adding interactions is going to be less time consuming than building those and then adding those interactions. (And who knows what's already done but not ready for release due to the area not being entirely finished?)

The general quality hasn't slipped, even if it has slowed down a bit. Part of why I don't mind is that the systems are mostly better, and they're actually decent. We're not talking about minigames that are unplayable for half of the players. I don't enjoy fishing, chopping wood, or the road clearing, but they're far less obnoxious than systems in other games.

Once we get 'combat grind' type things, and quests bound to it, people will no doubt complain about the artificial length of the game too.

I just wanted to add (to the terribly long argument) that given the obvious effort and care the Dev put into this game, it feels unlikely he's fizzling out or milking anything/anyone. The H-Scenes alone seem to me to be the best of ANY Koikatsu type AVN our there. IMO.
Tbh the character models are just a bit better than base game (koikatsu) characters and were it not for the story and H-Scenes I wouldn't care as much for this game at all.
The story is great too. The world crafting is good, the writing is better than average (grammar) and I've been pleased with the rate at which the game updates as well.

For all the cynics out there, why don't we give the Dev the benefit of the doubt? Maybe they're a little burnt out? Or real life is interfering? It hasn't been all that long a wait so I, for one, don't get all the impatience.

So, Dev, thanks for the story and the hard work. I appreciate it and really love your game.

P.S. When the next major update? :p

Seconded on the appreciation point.

Updates are meant to be every 2-3 months, 3 months since the last update falls in about a fortnight (3 weeks for public release). If we give the dev the benefit of the doubt and factor their holiday into it, it could be the middle of next month (3rd week for public release).

Given the story progression, I'm not that worried if the wait is a bit longer. I'd much rather real progression with characters or story than padding.

The quality and depth of story and world building fit with the general feel. It's cosy, and comfortable, and feels a bit like living in a good TV series.

As to the grammar, the reworks for the start of the game weren't just graphical, a lot of work was put into making them clearer (not that it was ever that bad). Though I do tend to give characters in games the benefit of the doubt, and assume they're non-native, or there's some kind of translation matrix between us, so I'll tolerate a lot more than most players in that regard; either way, the language here has been fine.

When the dev posted about a family health emergency and had to delay an update by a month last year, everyone lost their minds posting about how the grift had started. Then a month later everything was back to normal and no one said anything. Folks gotta chill.

Yes, most of it is like a great Slice of Life anime.

I'm just picky about grammar, I tend to give dialogue a pass if it makes sense that the speaker wouldn't be 100% proper/correct, but for everything else I wish I could take the game apart find the text and correct. It's a me thing. Though there are games I really enjoy that holy @%^$ need an editor. I mean it's like they don't even run spell check never mind grammar or human proofreading. I'm surprised a large portion of the new games coming out aren't all written in emoji or initialisms. iykwim

Wow, has the art improved? Back then I played version 2.(I forgot exactly), and the art wasn’t this smooth. Luckily, I decided to replay the game from the beginning and deleted my save file.

You need to make her the hydrating tea, and then as soon as she leaves the drinking stage go to the toilet to check.
I got a huge kick out of this event, because you have to make her the tea, then "accidentally" walk in on her in the bathroom, and keep doing it, pretending that it's an accident every time and you had no idea she would be in there.
