I played the game (all 7 chapters) three times with different choices. Hence, I assume that I discovered most of the plot.
The overall idea and plot of the game is plausible. (I don't want to spoil to much.) Actually, the game had the potential be a really great game, however I can only give 2 of 5 stars.
Pace and Variety of Story
This is only a minor inconvenience and does not justify the missing three stars. Nonetheless, I wanted to point it out. Even though, the choices of the main character are supposed to matter the story is mostly linear. Many choices only affect whether one sees a scene or if one skips it, e.g. at one point one can decide whether the MC (after he has done his job) stays at the brothel a little bit longer and has some extra fun or if the MC leaves immediately. If one decides to stay, there is an extra scene, but it does not alter the overall plot. Another example is that at some point there is a conversation between the MC and Zoe (co-worker at the police). One can either decide to be impolite and piss Zoe off or being polite which unveils some extra sex scenes with Zoe later. However, the decision does not change the story on a fundamental level. Moreover, some of the dialogs are rather long until one has to make the next choice. Don't get me wrong. I don't expect one sex scene after the next. Au contraire! However, at some point I felt tired of clicking through the dialogs dozens of times and I started pressing "tab" to fast-forward to the next choice and I read the log of past messages instead.
Unrealistic (and unattractive) female characters
This is the issue which only let me give 2 out of 5 stars. Zoe (the MC's co-worker at the organized crime division) and Cindy (the assistant to the police chief) and maybe even Grace are quite attractive. Personally, I like Cindy most. However, as soon as we also consider clothing style, Zoe and Grace already fail not to mention the other female characters. The other female characters are not only dressed as if they were cheap whores out of teenager's fantasy but they all seem to have suffer from the same mislead plastic surgery.
Cindy is the only girl which looks decent and is decently dressed and hence makes a plausible character.
Don't get me wrong. I don't mind if women are open-minded, live out there sexuality and even use there sexuality as a mean to achieve their goals. That is what the whole game is about and this is what I expected to see. I also like to see explicit sex scenes.
But there is a big difference between being and behaving sexually open (maybe even being a slut) on the one hand and exaggeratedly dressing like a cheap whore on the other hand. The latter may be funny for a short moment on a costume party but is a real turn-off otherwise.
Some of you may know the TV series "Homeland" which is centered around Carrie, a female CIA field operative. In at least two episodes, Carrie sleeps with men who she is handling in order to gather intelligence information. When a colleague of hers asks her why she did it, Carrie simply answers that this was the easiest and fastest way to get information. While her colleague (also a woman) is clearly concerned whether this action might compromise the security of the operation, Carrie's colleague has seemingly no problems regarding the moral aspects. In another episode, when Carrie expresses her concerns that (again a male) opponent might not act as hoped for and may therewith spoil an operation, Carrie's supervisor just orders Carrie to "sleep with the guy if she has to" and there are no objections from Carrie's side. Even though Carrie has seemingly no problems to trade her body to achieve her objectives, Carrie never ever is dressed like a slut in any episode, but is always decently dressed.
In real life, I am befriended with women of which at least three have slept with their supervisor in order to boost their career (and are also very attractive). However, none of them would ever even consider dressing like the women in this game.
A woman simply don't waltz in on a high-ranking official in public space being half-naked and fucks him. That's completely inept and will never work. Those men with sufficient influence also have a reputation to loose and are normally extremely careful about with whom they might be seen in public.
Let's get back to Zoe, the MC's co-worker at the crime division. Of course, as she is not a patrolwoman but an investigative officer, she is not obligated to wear a uniform, but may wear day-to-day clothes. But a belly-free top and hot pants which barely cover her intimate parts most likely violate regulations of any police force in the world. A police officer which dresses the way as Zoe does at work would get a dissuasion instantly.
Same problem with that FBI supervisor. I do not even know how that piece of garment is called, but there is no way how someone with that black, net-like something would get into a position like hers. This is simply ridiculous and absurd. And this childish, colorful tatoos of Betsy. Are they supposed to be attractive? They are simply cringeworthy. Unfortunately, the only plausible characters are the male ones and the minor character Cindy which is a real highlight.
Overall the female characters seem to be the fantasy result of a short-witted teenager.
