Stay on her good side.
Turn Jess into a good girl, so you'll need good points high enough to make following choices:
"Today's great, thank you" when shopping with Jess & she introduce you to Instagram.
"I don't think it's a good idea" when visiting Jess & she wanted to get high.
"I didn't know you care so much about Dave" when Jess visits Dave in the hospital.
"It's so sad" when Jess visits & tells you her fights with family.
"You need to quit it for good" when Jess visits & asks for drugs.
Important:
If you don't want your Ash to be single, say you wanted hear to be Jack's girlfriend in the end, then DON'T HAVE SEX WITH JESS, otherwise Good Jess won't ask Ash for advise on furthering her own relationship with Dave, and won't end up with Dave.
If your Ash is single, also had sex with Jess, then TURN HER DOWN when she confesses her love for Ash, only then will she asks advise for be with Dave

I couldn't agree less about this being a poor update. It was made very clear by Eva that it was going to focus on the bimbo route, and it was probably also the path that needed the most content for the endings to be set up properly. And even if it was only focused on the two paths you mentioned, the content for those was great.
I don't think you can expect content for every single route every single update, especially when this was the last one before the final update.
Actually, pornstars look better.
I know, each their own and beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but... well... yea.. I don't know...
