This is a problematic way to simulate incest. If we are changing her literal name to "mom." It puts so much constraint on the script to accommodate this type of incest "patch."

Think about it, how will other characters than the MC and sister call her? Your neighbors will call her mom? Same thing goes for the sister. If you change her name to "sister," you have unnatural dialogues between siblings, who normally don't refer to each other as sister or brother. The mom will call her sister too if you call the name in the code for her dialogue. If you go out of your way to accomodate the names literally being "mom" and "sister," you have problems for non incest version of the script. "...but I'm your mom..." Will turn in to "...but I'm your Jenny..." Something like that.

As you can see, the best option is to make an incest patch with an actual revised script that incorporates incest because simple word replacement really doesn't work very well. If you are insistent on using the user input method, at the very least, you need to give them actual names and let the players input the relationships.
So I'm not sure if the solution was solved, I never coded a game before(but I do know coding) and I haven't tried the game yet(going to) so I'm not sure what is the script is at the moment but what if there is an option to click: "related". Then you name the character as mom.

The idea is that when the related checkbox is ticked, any dialogue involving narration and reference from other npcs would include a Your in front, while excluding player's dialogue.

Something like:

"Related" checkbox: Ticked
Name: Mom
Npc: Your mom is a red-head
Narration: Your mom has green eyes
Player: Hello Mom
Thinking: Mom braided her hair today

"Related" checkbox: unticked
Name: Mom
Npc: Mom is a red-head
Narration: Mom has green eyes
Player: Hello Mom
Thinking: Mom braided her hair today

Would that help? Plus having the checkbox tick can tell the codes to add or exclude any dialogue that is relevant if the character are related.

"Related" checkbox: Ticked
Mom: Hello son, your dad left us.
Mom: I know it wrong but I want to fuck you.

"Related" checkbox: unticked
Mom: hello player, your dad left you under my care.
Mom: I am so horny that I want to fuck you.

Still, at the end of the day, based on what others say and based on past project from other dev., you alone should determine the story's narrative and not try to please both side. If it is incest, make the story with incest in mind. If it isn't, then make the story where they are your caretaker.

Fan's suggestion or other external influence should not change your original story BUT instead enhance it by suggesting to remove or add certain dialogues, viewpoints or scenerios so as to improve the story telling or reveal certain information without outright telling it.

It should not be like: suggesting if the Mom shouldn't die because it is their favourite character and stuff like that.

I know it not fair to you as I can easily say this with no consequences, while you need financial support. It is also best for you to get as much income from both side to fund this project. But as stated, based on many people experience, the playerbase tend to hate it when the story is ruined by creating a general story plot that tries to please both side but fails.

Anyways, I'm gonna go play your game now, I wish you success and I hope atleast at the end of the day, you manage to finish the game and not abandon or milk it.

MC shouldn't bother "saving" his sister. She completely deserved her death in the original timeline... but I get that he might be doing it more to protect his mother than anything (and for the sake of lust I guess).

If his sister dies, the mom's mental stability plummets, I think thats the main reason. I don't think he gives the biggest shit about her. Though, it is mentioned that he wants to save her a bit, he does say he can't put up with the shit much longer.

For the hidden money, if you want to keep it, maybe you could instead of making it invisible, you could turn it into cash or jewelry in game. Something like I Spy where you find the money, then it dissapears.

I am also intrigued by the game's gameplay:

- When I saw the trainer tag, I thought it was something like other hentai games where you either sexually train the character through sex play(interactive live 2d sex) or selecting which sex position option, which will increase character's relationship. Then I remembered that you have to train your 5 stats. Still, I am curious if you plan to include an interactive sex training gameplay in or not. (I'm just curious so don't worry about having a "right" choice or not)

- I also am curious on how you would implement the minigames(are they for stats training or relationship training or relationship events(Like pass: go to one path and fail: go to another path etc)

- Do you plan to make it a time management game or do you have infinite time?


I am also curious about the ending paths:

- Would each character have multiple ending based on their path?(dom sub etc)

- Would all character have the same type of ending or are there character specific ending?(Noriko: Sub/Dom/Lover ending, while Sakuya: Porn Actress/Restaurant Couple/Pet ending)

- Do the guys have their own ending?

- Do the villains have a redemption arc ending? Ik there is a harem ending, but "would there be a save everyone" kind of ending?

- Are there bad ends? I think it is interesting if if you never finish a character's arc when you reach an ending, the character will end up in the bad life they had in MC's past life.

The art really is looking fantastic judging by the preview pics. Unfortunately the tags imply that there's not that much to do yet so I guess I'll keep an eye out for this one in the future.

Some of the code has been optimized, the game works better and is more smooth than before hoping that it will solve the problems of all those who have difficulties to play ExtraLife

I haven't played too many Ren' py games before, but Extra Life is arguably one of the most beautifully designed games I've ever played. Although it's not finished yet, it's already a work of art with amazing potential. First of all, its UI is very stylish and attractive to me, and the high-quality art works are really extraordinary. Aside from the fascinating storyline and those impressive character designs, there are also some incredible details in scenes compared to other Ren' py games, like the significant differences in sunshine between morning and afternoon, and the clouds floating across the sky, and I can turn on/ off the lights in different areas in the living room at night, or light up my own desk lamp which casts the shadow of the chair on the floor... Even the global map is showing a lot of details which very carefully designed (although it caused serious lag on my old computer). Overall, this game has left a deep impression on me, and I am eagerly looking forward to its subsequent updates.

Thats because the potential you see is a lie. The dev cannot push out reasonable amount of content with this presentation.
Or the statement is forever true since a year from now theres 2 new scenes and it's still has the same amount of potential going for it.

The game is not yet 1 year old, it has had three updates in 9 months which means a new update every three months on average, the next version brings more than 3 minutes of animation and I'm not talking about 4 images looped. These are animations made with live2d + after effect. You are really someone of bad faith

The next update is supposed to be a paid one. I wonder what F95 will do in this instance, because this site usually makes paid content available for free. In this case, the dev is the owner of the thread. Will they just give the thread to someone else? Yikes.
