Ooof. I know this has the Completed tag, but I hope the dev keeps going with this game.

Based on what I've read, this looks like it was a test game (this one has animations), but it was fun to play through.

Fingers crossed. :)
Basically, this will always be "completed" but there's already been one "DLC" expansion, so who knows.

I was about to start my journey into Grandma's House but then i saw this and now im wandering if i should play this before the main game or what, how does this game fit timeline wise? Before, somewhere in between or after the main game?

You do not need to play this first. It does explain some of the characters that show up in part 5 though.

Cool, might as well. Looks like this is pretty short anyway so i won't lose much time
It says so in the OP to Grandma's House, but be aware that it (the main story) does NOT have animation while College Days does.
One of MoonBox's main purposes for College Days was to experiment with and practice using animation.

Problem isn't the quality, it's the fact that animations basically triple the dev time for same amount of content. That was what the experiment was all about.

No! He absolutely should NOT.

Why? Well, show me any other game that has 2 updates/month with GOOD quality animations and around 500/600 renders per update.

Besides that, the main game does NOT need animations. However much you may think so. It is perfectly playable without. I would even go further and say that it is so much better because it doesn't have them.

No. He absolutely should NOT do that.

Peace :(

I personally would prefer a game with updates fairly often than to wait a long time for an update just because it has animations. The only games with animations that have somewhat quick updates are the ones done by studios with more than one person doing things.

Well i didn't play the main game yet so IDK how it is so i was just going of the impressions i had from this game and to me it looked like he did a good job with them, that's all i meant. Its not that he needs animations in the main game, it was just an extra spice on top what was there. Maybe i didn't express myself correctly in the previous post and ended up hurting your feelings or whatever, if so i apologise

No. no, no... not feelings no...

Just years of reading the same argument almost every update, 4 or 5 times in a row.

It reached PTSD levels I guess...

Peace :(

Even thought it was originally listed a a test game while working on Grandmas house and that there would be no update, a little while back we got an update to it. So who knows maybe it will become a full blown game prequel :) I hope so at least

If it does, it probably won't be finished before the main game does, so expect a few years to go by before this one even has a chance to go anywhere (if it's ever going to be more than a once-in-a-blue-moon update).

Same, i actually really enjoyed what is there so far and i like the characters. Wouldn't mind seeing more down the line that's for sure but yea probably not before the main game is done

Anyone know when the next update of this game will be released? Considering the main game mentions things that happened in College but aren't in this game.

Well, these are just side projects to the main game. So we'll get these when Moon decides he has extra time to make these along the normal updates.
I didn't track how much was there, but since it's basically MB's "practice animations side project" I think its fair to expect updates to be erratic in nature, both release and size.
All that said, the game was marked complete after the first release, then the second release was 15 months later. Don't know if it means anything, but something to keep in mind.

lol, so just started on this (after finishing part5 of Grandma's house), but right of the bat the implication is that the Dean has prior knowledge of the MC....but I don't see a prequel to this game. Is there one and it's just not linked?

hmm, well, that was short, doesn't really mesh with the Grandma's house though. I mean, no sex with Misses Saunders and very little else as it finishes after the Truth or Dare...bit weird to tell you the truth

So initially this was just MB trying out animations to see if he could fit them into the workflow of Grandma's House. The answer: Not gonna happen. More than triples the time needed to get out the same length update. The original release was just the first half of what exists now. And it was released as a "complete" sample game with no indication there would ever be more, nor that it's implications would come up in the main game (except for some hints that Saunders was related to the first cucked husband we meet).

BUT, possibly because the response was so strong, and possibly because he actually enjoyed the setting, this is being "added to" on occasion, so we'll probably eventually see a third part -- and maybe more -- being added. I say "added" because it's technically a complete sample game, and will remain so.

As for your questioning of why the Dean has history with the MC, it's made clear that this is his second year at the college, and he had lots of run-ins with the Dean and her "son" (and Kayla, and other students and some teachers) in year one. Their history is not implied -- it's flat out told to us at least twice (First the explanation about why Chaz was messing with him and him not being able to properly retaliate, and again when we first see him meet the dean -- although I don't actually remember which came first).

I really enjoyed this prequal and i hope he decides to add it into the rotation and continue working on it. I would even be ok with him dropping the animations in favor of a style similar to GH. I was always curious to see how the college stories from GH would play out, and it's really cool seeing them in action.
