I also had that. I use the walkthrough mod+patch.
Thomas is famous for his flour, so not sure how she could mistake the Miller family. Also, Thomas is always grinding... wait, did I just figure it out? But that is my point of view, I never was too keen of Shizuka, and this Bubu, Snugglebug, dutzi dutzi, is for me hard on the edge of the tolerable, this statement is based on my personal preferences.
I wouldn't mind if she would act a bit more mature, then again, MB needed such a character in his game.
She basically triggers the protective side of the player.

I mean I'm a Shizuka's fan and I'm not hiding that, I would cuddle her all the time but I understand that all this corny and sweet things can be too much for others and even infuriating.
It bug me? Yes, would I say something mean as a response? No, honestly I've seen that it only get more bad blood in the thread instead of being beneficial to the discussion.

It's a cycle. Somebody comes in here with an opinion, expresses it in a typically (but not always) less-than-friendly fashion, and the usual suspects tie on their kickin' boots.
From what I've seen, Shizuka is the cause of the majority because of the nature of her content. Which is fair. Forced cute/wholesome can be trying, especially when it is used to break up the rhythm in a porn game. (Recent events in the game notwithstanding. The couch cleaning is coming out of her allowance.)
The problem is, the kickin' boots tend to stay on, even for people who are just wondering about something that may be contentious. Yes, I am including in that the oddballs who ask about avoiding the grandmother in the VN with the 'incest' tag called 'Grandma's House'. Even though I do myself glance bootward when I see a question like that. It's like booting up Assassin's Creed only to wonder what's with all the sneaking.
I've said it before. The game is good, but regular exposure to the thread runs the risk of brain-rot.
