Points was only in part 1. Then it was abandoned. Therefore, there is no reason to change the stats.

But, from Part 2 it's just a choice. The points from Part 1 have no effect on anything. Even in Part 1 it has practically no effect on anything. Either you are interested in the path or you are not. The points have no practical impact.
Or did you mean something else?

they continue to matter. if you choose no interest in p1 you wont see their content later and even now.

Most of points are for Nana and Jamila, now I'm pretty sure the points didn't affect them.

an example: Priya. opt no, and you never even get asked if you want to see her scenes or not later. the interaction just never happens.
thats why the mod remains relevant, the points remain as a 0 or 1 for any character.
