Well, the game has splitted parts because of the file sizes. A new part is made after the old one get's above 5GB. Since there are already 5 parts it would be 5x5 = 25GB... And the game is already using webp images.

And even the available more compressed versions are about ~1GB per part, would be also already ~5GB (way to big for some Android phones with the 2GB limit)

As Part 5 is currently only at 467MB, it's 20.5GB total size right now. It will be 25GB when Part 5 is completed.

AFAIK cutting the parts off at 5GB is not so much about saving people HDD storage space, it's more for download size.
A lot of the free download sites have limits (unless you pay for more), I think Mixcloud is 6GB per day, pretty sure Megaupload has one too, so a lot of people wouldn't be able to download the game if file size higher than reached that.
Obviously Moonbox wants as many people as possible to be able to download & play his game, so I think that's why he caps each part at 5GB.

Part 5 already has 4+ GB (you probably have checked the update only file). I actually expect the next split to part 6 quite soon in one of the next updates (~v0.81).
