That's generally the challenge with having so many characters, that some just get lost and or forgotten about entirely. On top of that, everyone has different tastes so it sucks when the characters you like end up being the ones that don't really progress. One game isn't going to be able to please everyone whether we're talking love interests or kinks. I don't see anything wrong with what you said necessarily, but this game may just not be for you anymore.

There are some characters that feel more as background extras, than nothing else and add nothing more than extra work for the Dev.
Yeah, yeah, you can argue that they satisfy certain
kinks but the problem is that trying to cater a wider audience, while being a small team or a single dev... well, it only creates more workload, delays and stress, and all of those are quite counter-intuitive, counter-productive and cost-increasing on the long run.
IMHO the dev
should let go some of those characters, and focus more in developing the story for the most popular ones, and later on, create spin-off / DLC series with the other characters, to complete the stories, and create a more comprehensive game
