I agree with you on that! In many games they are a cop out just to have some sex scenes early on.
Don't like them either, I find they kill the anticipation for the actually sex scenes but I had to show the player what she looked like otherwise she would just show up pregnant and you would have to throw her out on her ass if you're not interested.
