yeah several separate parts is already already a tall order for most people aside from long time fans.
But there being no animations especially 5 parts in is just saying there isn't much effort put into this.
I remember playing the beginning a bit a while ago before there was separate parts or maybe just 2 parts and I don't remember it being particularly gripping but still no animations in a VN is just neglecting the visual part of the visual novel regardless of how good the story is or could be.

Dude, I already skip quite often animations in games. They are imo most of the time mediocre at best and using very often the standard settings we have seen hundrets of times in many games. Also saying a VN without animations is neglecting the visual part, oh my...

1- You are quite obviously a troll, even so, I'll try to explain, for those that read this.
2- Animations are only ever an improvement if they are good.
3- Good animations take a LONG time to make.
4- When faced with this, the dev decided to cut animations to improve release times.
5- It also removed Pubic hair for the same reasons.
6- With that in place the dev managed to make a rather substantial update every month, even tho he had a full time job.
7- At some point that full time job went away, he moved into his parents house and started to work on the game full time.
8- With this he started to make 2 updates a month, slightly smaller each than the one a month from before, but in total a rather significant increase monthly.
9- Patreon support climbed enough that he could update his system, produce even more content. He are now at almost 2x of what he started with.
10- As a test, he created a game, the GH prequel, called College days. Where he made animations to try to gauge what and how much this would impact his production.
11- The result was that an update the size of what he can make in 2 weeks for GH without animations, took 6 weeks to do with animations.
12- So, GH stayed without animations, with the large monthly production and a clockwork release every 15 days.
13- Even so, after all this time, after this being explained a 100 times, by me at least, there are still trolls here trying to stir up trouble and flame wars because "Animations".
14- It doesn't have animations, it doesn't need animations, it is just fine as it is and if you don't want it, leave it.
