That really depends. Sure you should try to avoid scope creep in general,
but in this case it's a perfect opportunity for Rafster to gain more experience, increase his ability in coding, make better gameplay mechanics, know better about his capability.
That is If Rafster's goal is to grow, rather than just be done with this game and move on.

What I'd say is, Rafster, just take your time, do whatever you think is good for you, and don't stress out.

Thank goodness it isn't real.... fuck, it could have been really, really bad an aquisition from Patreon. I almost had a mini heart attack yesterday (In my country it was still March 31st)

By the way, I was avoiding to post precisely this day and I was going to post tomorrow, but whatever. This month I created the three longest scenes I ever written (and the buggiest one too), poor sub MC has a rough path ahead. I'm still missing two scenes from story and the update will roll, but I'm nowhere near from the point I can release (at least 1 month away). My obsession of bringing new features creeped badly into a buggy mess

Expect more news, the project is alive and well, just me coding like a monkey.

Didn't realise Patreon is that bad for porn, only knew they don't allow certain type of contents.
Then what are ideal platforms for devs nowadays? I saw Gumroad also banned porn.

This year I'm starting a Subscribestar just in case, I didn't do before because there weren't ways to get me paid in my country, but it turns out there was. Steam and gumroad are not good choices for games like mine.

Well... I think mine could do pretty well on steam, fetish-wise, and even Patreon. I'm not worried about that. The ONLY fetish I regret leaving out, is rape, but it is what it is.

But Real Porn is a bad, bad choice for a game, one aspect I deeply regret using when I was in the middle of the development. Fortunately, my next game won't have this problem.

Steam is still off-limits to me, the only graphic allowed there would be Daz 3D, or 2D by an Artist (AI is also out for me, my PC is too old). Honey select, Koikatsu or Sims 4 (my next idea. Originally, Grizzly Grove was going to be made with Sims 4 characters) based games won't do on Steam either, copyright issues.

There are many RP games on Patreon, I hope mine hold up until I start the development of my next project.

I'll only talk about myself but the reason I prefer real porn games is that other artistic choices are less appealing to me (or I've stumbled upon porn games so good with real porn the first times that I can't appreciate them properly).
For 3D, only Daz can do the trick if it's done the right way, though it has problems with body hair. I don't like Honey Select, Koikatsu or Sims 4 because I feel like I'm seeing plastic dolls. Pixel art can be amusing. And I have mixed feelings about AI.
As for 2D, the drawings are usually unequal and inconsistent, particularly male bodies.
In the end, I prefer text based to bad arts. Well that's just how I feel.

For Grizzly Grove, I'm waiting for you to finish Ursus storyline to see if I even want to try it again. I'm much more interested about the continuation of the prison one and what you have thought for his mother. Maybe some side events with minor characters could be nice.

A great game developer once said, "You won't make a perfect game out of the gate. But if you keep iterating, keep applying what you learnt from the last, next game will always be much better."
(Also the reason it's not ideal to make a large scale game as your first project).

IMO, one of the standout of your game, is the very well curated porn that fit perfectly. (Many RP just slap together some random porn that fits in the action)
I wouldn't regret it at all - unless you really depend on the largely limited monetisation.

Not sure about Sims 4, it's too corny / uncanny, creates a funny / not serious atmosphere - unless that's what you are going for.
And Honey select / Koikatsu ... ain't them for girls / twinks? Never saw a musky gay game using them....
AI art ... I yet to see a decent AI art game that's not boring / generic / uncanny.

That got me curious. I'd assume you are well connected / good at networking?
But no chance for working with an artist?
I saw many furry creators collaborating to create games. Tho doesn't often hear such thing for non-furry porn games.
... Come to think about it, there's really not many western realistic-style bara games, even when it's huge in Japan.
Most 3D are also not good, either too Uncanny, or too Twinky - limitation of the 3D tools I guess?
Only a few are great, like Cloud Cuckoo Land, or Hornstown.

Or it's time to pick up a new skill, talented creators are often of many skills

Ursus Inc. Sex Worker Storyline (Part1) Hotfix c
This is the Third hotfix for the 0.23 version, with a nasty bug corrected for the slut errrr... Sex Worker profession.
Bug Fixes:

• Corrected a game stopping bug happening when the interview with Elric Adams at Ursus failed. After it failed, the player is supposed to ask Mack (At Marc-Us) the next day about a new chance. The option was there, but nothing happens once you click. It's corrected now, now Mack will give you another date for an interview with Elric at Ursus

• Updated the list of the Patreons (including cave visitor tier and the new patreons) on the Main screen. Thank you for your support, guys.
• Added a fifth outside task: The Pervert Coach. The first of the two BDSM tasks on this level, it's only available to dom players that have Elric as their boss. On it, You'll be a nasty and pervert coach of your client, Owen. You'll make him go through a rough gym session, which will end with a serious talk in your office where you'll show him who's the boss. That is, if you get rid of the idiots that will try to sabotage your training with him, you'll need to use a lot of your abilities to not ruin the scene for the client
• Added a sixth outside task: The Chair of Hell. It's the second of the two BDSM tasks, and it's only available to sub players that have Mack as their boss (neutral players or dom players won't have this mission available). On it, you'll take the role of a nasty security inspector, trying to inspect the client's room (Tony and Aiden). If you anger them badly enough, they will make you their sub for a nasty BDSM session. But doing that will require you to use a lot of your abilities, they are not easy guys to anger.

Bug Fixes:

• If you start the dom path with Elric on Ursus, you won't meet Mack again at the mall. Neither in Marc-Us nor in the random event while hanging out at the mall

Chasing your landlord

Finally, this is the conclusion of JCS Storyline, Dalton's romance and the official release of the game! So, hang on bear lovers, There is a lot of content on this update, so let's begin.

This update is all about the last level, VIP Manager. You're now Dalton's right hand man, and you'll handle the most sensitive clients, administrative work (yay for paperwork!!!) and the contracts for JCS. Also, Dalton's romance is at your reach too. So, do you have what it takes to gain the love of your grumpy boss and landlord? let's get to it then!

Features

• Added an Advance Time feature on the left side menu. It allows you to advance time (1-12 hours). Be careful where you use it, as you may break some timed events or missions.
• Added a new Patreon button, for anyone who wants to support me and have a direct influence on the game's storyline's polls, and other features.
• Now, on some of the mandatory sex scenes where BDSM is involved, if you de-select a choice, not only the media will be disabled, the text will also be blurred.
• Added the promotion event to level 3
• Added the first day mission as VIP Manager. The SeaTech contract, where you'll have to recover it from a SCS rival. If you succeed, you'll gain SeaTech as client (opening the regular and optional missions of SeaTech) and you can have sex with the CEO, Arthur.
• Modified the daily activities at JCS lvl 3. Now, if you missed one of the two optional missions (the BDSM porn clip filmations) you can now do them, even both if you skipped them, this time, you'll be accompanied by Dalton to Marc-Us, so there's a lot of changes on the dialogues there, and if you romance Dalton and do one of these scenes, you can have a BDSM encounter with him at a date on Grizzly Roar Bar. There is also a third brand new optional mission at SeaTech, if you were successful in the first day mission. If you complete it successfuly you'll get a chance for a threesome.
  
  If you have won Brian's muscle challenge, he'll want to challenge you again. If you win, there is a new sex scene with him at his apartment. If you beat Louie once, he'll challenge you again. If you manage to win a second time, he'll invite you later to his apartment, where you'll have a threesome with him and a spcial guest. Who? you'll have to play to find out.
  
  Also, if you romance Dalton, you have the chance to take him on a date to two places: The Mario's restaurant and Grizzly Roar Bar. in both cases you can get a sex scene with him.
• Regular jobs at JCS Level 3
  • If you gained the SeaTech contract, its CEO Arthur will call you to make inspections on the HQ. And a chance to have a sexy time with the CEO if everything is alright
  • The Wrights job, Part 3: Our favorite geezers are back. They'll need you at their Antique store so you can help them with the cleaning. But as you get in, weird shit start happening...
  • Help Dalton and your newbie co-worker, Jason, to get the weekly detergent shipment for JCS. Anything goes here, including using your natural charm and attributes to do so.
  • The BDSM Gym of hell. Dalton wants to steal a big SCS client, the Black Beard Gym. Of course, as Sea Tech, gaining this new contract is hard. But if you succeed, dom and sub players will be able to get special scenes for them, also a chance to farm attitude points.
  • Knowing Mark. Your old client, Mark Jones, finally meets you. If you succeed on this mission, you can have some sexy time him.
• Story missions at JCS Level 3. This time, the five story missions are exclusive to Dalton's romance. They will serve to advance the romance and JCS plot altogether. At the end, depending on how well (or bad) you romanced Dalton, you'll get one of two possible endings with him.

Bug Fixes

• Lowered the cleaning skill requirements for Louie's first challenge
• Added a love interest section on the help screen, to give a brief introduction to both love interests in the game and how to meet them.
