Patreons are playing the next patch, the previous version is free.

Okay first of all, your level of communication is crazy and it's appreciated but bordering on scary.

I have seen actual community managers do worse.

Second of all, your model is interesting. I appreciate very much that you are engaging on what is, basically, a piracy site. With historic context, it's not that rare to see developers offer around a third of their game for free so people can see if they like it. From that point of view, you're doing well, don't let people get you down over it.

Last point, why the hell is the 0.44 version extra here? I've looked through the thread but didn't find any coherent reason as to why.

Thank you for the kind words. As long as I can continue making the game I will. I have many plans for the game and I am still going strong on my daily development!
Regarding the 44, it was before other platforms were discontinued for support. They still exist because they have an intro to the game. Direct-supported games are easier and less confusing to run. Yet for the new version, it's either through an emulator or web version.

Would you mind clarifying what are the conditions for the new free version release?
If it's a major version bump, then your numbering is a bit unintuitive - if i had to guess, the 7x is gonna be released to public when patrons get their 8x's, but then again it's just a guess, since technically v67 vs v68 is still a ver. bump, even if released back to back.
Or maybe free releases are on hold for now, since it's been two months without one?

I'm pushing the free version as I update the Patreon versions. The number of the version depends on the content update inside. It will not always be a static difference. Right now I'm finishing up on a bigger functionality update so it is waiting for this. The free updates will usually get pushed after patreon update. The f95 version is not always updated by me, so I cannot guarantee those versions even work. In any case, I always will prioritize patreons because they allow me to do my work. I am sorry but I'm going to drop the game.
Its fair enough you need to make money - all the power to you, but features that are supporter only shouldn't be visible at all in the free version as it gets really confusing trying to progress, and never knowing what you're meant to do in the game.
I've tried getting whatshername on the cliff to join me, and nothings happening. I've tried talking to my neighbour below me, and for the last few versions, it says "next version."

Still I wish you luck with the project, I might pick up again in the far future.

Understandable, I have no internal api right now to show well without screwing it later which node is available when. Some ui nodes are pushed to lower. So it leads to the way that nodes available in later versions are shown at this one.
At the same time, there are plenty of games that use this way of displaying information in a free to play game.
So it's not my priority to make those changes. I'd rather focus on pushing the game forward and make those changes when other systems require it.
