There's this white particles aura floating, there's 20~ around the map, so not that often, then you hold the UP arrow on the keyboard to save.

I'm totally stuck and was wondering If anyone can help, I want to avoid as many spoilers as possible, but I'm trying to get up the side of a mountain from which you are supposed to access by jumping off the roof of a building, anyone who has progressed far enough Into the game should recognize the part I mean, I simply cannot find any way to get on the building to reach the top of the cliff, any help would be much appreciated

You likely haven't unlocked the costume yet. Explore the entire catacombs to get it.
