No, that's just how it's always been. This is not a very deep game, and transitions between scenes are not generally included (so you go from dressed and talking, to sex, to dressed and talking again, without the getting dressed/undressed being seen, etc.).

I just started playing...so what are 'disks'? Is there secret scenes and you have to find things on the screen?
Disks are simple Compact Disk icons placed in some images throughout the VN.
Each found disk unlocks a special render.
It is easiest to just follow the story and later use the chapter option to replay the chapters with missing "disks".
If you right-click you should see the options for chapters and special gallery.
How far does 0.55 go in the story/chapters? I mean I am just coming up to the beach holiday so I assume that's not too far.
For me the number of days is just not really a factor because you jump from day to day to and from various times of the day...seems the MC wakes up at 10am most days but there is no real 'sleep' time (don't think I've ever seen it dark outside...sorry just did when catching Rachel with her 'friend')
